As someone who has Type 1 Diabetes, the autoimmune variety that afflicts about 5% of all Diabetics, starting in childhood, I find this sort of comment really unhelpful. While I didn’t cause my illness, it is incorrect to imply that Type 2 is only a disease of lifestyle since it has a strong genetic component as well. Yes, a healthier diet and exercise can ameliorate the symptoms for many, perhaps most. But there are thin Type 2s. I know some.
Why is this the only disease that is an acceptable punch line or used as an outright slur? Nobody gets attacked for having cancer even though many forms are due to lifestyle factors.
End of rant.

Even 3rd world countries I have visited and one I even lived in for a time would not deliberately lower themselves with this sort of …I hate to say this because I’ve come from poverty myself but. trailer trash government-in-waiting. This series of Cabinet selections is so far beyond disturbing that I lack the vocabulary to express myself. I’ll have to leave it to y’all to take over.

Earlier I used cancer in America as a tag after a particularly racist attack on a Muslim family in Alaska that was reported here on TPM. I used the cancer epithet even though I myself am a cancer survivor (4 years out from tumor removal). I don’t mind at all if folks choose to use that disease as an epithet.
And it’s true that many of us may not be able to afford health insurance or be able to see doctors after trump and Ryan get done screwing things up.

WWE is not considered a sport, only entertainment. The “wrestlers” are contract 1099 employees with few rights. They don’t get any profit sharing from the lucrative TV rights.
Just take a look at how many wrestlers have died under her reign. Some could be attributed to the proliferation of steroids and HGH that was allowed by McMahon and her husband. A death toll higher than many other industries. Even the ones which rank the most dangerous such as deep sea fishermen or lineman.
