Discussion: LePage's Wife Waitressing To Supplement His Lowest In Nation Governor Salary

Isnā€™t that quaintā€¦just what youā€™d expect from being married to that fat-ass tightwad. Maybe heā€™ll go along with an increase in the minimum wage in Maine nowā€¦

I was about to post my exasperation at this story being here at all - but connecting it to minimum wage support negates some of my annoyance.

You thought it made her look good, huh? The little woman going off to work a humble pink collar job? Hah, marby. You know better. Thereā€™s always a catch whenever any Republican is involved. Minimum wage just happens to be the most obvious unreported irony concerning this story.

Actually, I didnā€™t think it made her look good at all. I thought it made both LePages look phony - trying to identify as part of the ā€œpoor working folksā€ that they are happy to fleece with their policies. The TPM story seemed to me to be giving them some credibility which is what irritated me.

Thatā€™s what I meant actually. I guess I didnā€™t make that clear in my response.

got it . . . .I should have realized neither of us would support the idea that LePage was reasonable or empathetic.

Is it just me? I read this story and my first reaction was ā€˜sheā€™s leaving himā€™.

Ok he makes 70k, he does not pay rent, food, etc because the taxpayers pick that up. I wish i made $40K

Thatā€™s probably the best tip sheā€™ll get.

Probably getting more than the minimum wage as no one will tip her . /s
