I hope the estate of the dead giant rabbit hires the same law firm.
So U.A., like Donnie & Co., will settle quick as a bunny when it suits their aims.
Settled in less than three weeks! Did it include double frequent flyer miles?
I’m sure the harm this is and would continue to be to United Airlines, made it impossible for them not to settle quickly. I suspect the settlement was multiple millions of dollars. Given the amount they have already lost because of this, that was a tiny settlement to them.
Hey! I resemble that remark!
Yes, but only for the distance over which he was dragged.
That was very sad.
@hoppy Whatever the settlement was it will come out of the employees’ hide.
Holy crap! They’ve already settled? That pretty much means that United’s lawyers just showed up and asked “how much do you want?” Dr. Dao was certainly financially comfortable before this, but I’m sure he can pretty much afford a private island now.
Corporations have insurance for this stuff. Even if he got something like $10 million, it’s still change under the couch cushion to a company this size. Remember, they lost something like $800 million in market capitalization within minutes of this video going viral.
What about the men who dragged the doctor off of the plane? Were they employed by United, or by something like a Chicago Airport Authority? One source from another website commented that this security detail is actually part of the Chicago police. Does anyone know what security’s role was, in both the action and in the settlement?
I worked for UAL many years, very glad to be gone, but I’m not happy that they’re so careless with passengers and how they’re treated. Front line employees were given most of the responsibility for making customers happy, but it was like running into a brick wall. Understatement of all time:
A United report released on Thursday suggested the airline needs to become more customer-friendly.
Hardly a “frivolous lawsuit” in any way, shape or form. UA got off cheap. Worst kind of PR for something like this to drag out. Pay off and get it off the front page.
Munoz evidently read, and heeded, one of those books on crisis mgmt.
