Because of course she can’t be both (eyeroll)… In fact, I’d be surprised if Russia hired spies who are dumb.

I’m very curious to know where Butina is getting the money for her legal help, not to mention the tuition to for grad. school.

Indictment refers to her as a ‘covert Russian agent’. Sounds like a spy.

Sounds like Buttina has a better caliber lawyer than Trump.

She might be a criminal so she must be deported now. :cold_sweat:

Driscoll’s a Federalist Society type. Fav question amongst citizen journalist twitterati: who funds the Federalist?

It’s all connected.

Eek!

Spies are not deported. They are kept and interrogated.

Sorry all you Federalist Society lawyers, you are not John Adams.

So the Federalist Society shows up to defend their BFFs, the NRA and the Republican recipients from accusations of Russian financial largesse. Unless Buti’na’s legal defense fund is in process of being laundered, I’m sure the NRA and the GOP will pony up to try to shut this down.

Yep, I wonder how many “right” foundations, think tanks, charities -does the right have charities?, are doing internal audits of donors and their donations?

“The Russian woman who was charged Monday for acting as an agent of the Russian government is actually just a high-performing graduate student”

”Lawyer: Butina Is A Grad Student With A ‘4.0’ – ‘Not An Agent’ Of Russia.”

Because who among us, as a grad student, never wrote “I am ready for further orders” to a Kremlin handler?

Ah, the Grad Student 4.0 Defense. A classic example of legal gamesmanship…

I thought this was debunked as a case of mistaken identity.

simple response:

if she didn’t do anything wrong she has nothing to fear, right? Or is this lawyer saying that this is a witch hunt and our legal system is too screwed up to deal with these hysterical grand juries?

Question for our dastardly liberal media to consider: if Butina did nothing wrong and in fact had noble intentions, and the US Senate (Republican-led) insists that nothing criminal is happening, why was their meeting with Butina “closed-door”?

Better for Russia.

If Trump had better relations with California, he’d be dealing with a much larger economic power.
