A student would place a condom over the probe and then apply generous
amounts of lubrication to the probe. In some cases, the student would have to sexually
“stimulate” Plaintiffs in order to facilitate inserting the probe into Plaintiffs’ vaginas.

Condom? Sexual stimulation? This is NOT a medical transvaginal ultrasound. I’ve had one.
Given that of course this indignity can by definition, only be visited upon female students, it is obviously discriminatory…in addition to being a horrible thing to pressure students into doing even if there wasn’t a built-in discriminatory aspect to it. Whoever came up with this ridiculous policy, and whoever enforced it, should immediately be fired, stripped of whatever medical licenses and teaching credentials they might have, and if possible, brought up on criminal charges.
Why would anyone consent to do this? I’m trying to understand why the first request of the first female student to participate in this wasn’t met with a loud “HELL NO!” No school should require this but what’s so special about a community college that anyone would go through this just to maintain their status there?
I know it has to do with the power differential, but I can’t imagine agreeing to this.
Disagree slightly here. Yeah it’s discriminatory, but it’s not illegal discrimination. To be precise, it’s not the discrimination that’s illegal. Presumably they do need to demonstrate this procedure to students. If they’d hired truly voluntary outside subjects, and not subjected them to humiliation, abuse, and outright assault that seems to have occurred, I think it might be legal. Even though all subjects would still be female. (Just as all subjects for prostate exams would have to be male.)
No doubt in my mind that there are many other women who have been assaulted in the same fashion. How many litigants do you need for a class action suit?
