They’re that mean.
I was thinking Brubaker.
“Not only should he go to jail, but his food rations should only include what he’s fed inmates in his county in the last year or so…”
In addition, I would suggest that he have to put on some nice lipstick and mascara, so he can look extra puuurty for said inmates.
As someone who lived under Arpaio’s reign for many years, I hope people are starting to get the picture that a lot of these sheriff offices are little fiefdoms where these guys can just do as they please. This man is so despicable I don’t have words and certainly don’t have anything funny to say. His trick of making sure the whistleblower was charged with an over the top felony is right out of Arpaio’s playbook. It is a travesty of law enforcement. Why do right wingers think it is liberals smearing law enforcement - they obviously don’t need any help in making themselves look very, very bad.

Thanks for the link.
Agreed. Total scum.
You pretty much have to be a clinical sociopath to do crap like that, right? While the big top line Trumpian news items are depressing, I find these personal instances of corruption and malicious intent even more shocking. Plus, talk about a law that is tailor made for perverse incentives.
Good Christians every one…
I’m betting he will be Trump’s next pick for head of DHS or maybe ICE, which ever has a vacancy in the next week or two…
I’m surprised Trump hasn’t recruited this guy to be head of something.
this is the same county that gave us Roy Moore.
I think his sister’s his mother.
Duh - The law means Sheriff as in “office” could keep the excess funds not the Sheriff as in “person”!
What this Sheriff did was just as corrupt and illegal as any official who pays for personal expenses with office funds.
How can anyone not understand this simple concept of “office” versus “person” is beyond me.
Prison is indeed a place of punishment, and some people are indeed irredeemable. But the punishment, even for the irredeemable, is loss of liberty; it does not include being starved, poisoned, beaten or killed.
Proposed change: at least we’re East of Mississippi.
Yea, vacation and getting paid my normal salary and being reimbursed for every penny spent, all without using a single actual vacation day.
Bureau of Indian Affairs directorship just came open. Ask any Cherokee or Choctaw whether they think Todd Entrekin of Etowah County would represent their interests fairly.
He should be introduced to some Old West justice–a tall tree and a short rope.
The guy is an A-1 prime bleeding, bloated asshole. But the law that permits this is equally egregious. The legislators need to fix it post-haste.
I’ve got one of those. He was at the Bundy Ranch. In uniform.
He also has a bully-pulpit column in the local paper.
We’ll be rid of him in January. Thank doG for term limits.
