Paul Ryan:
“We made a promise to the country that we would rebuild our military. Aging equipment, personnel shortages, training lapses, maintenance lapses — all of this has cost us”
Wake up people… who benefits from this military spending? Your “average” American, or the 1% and corporations? When was the last time the US was attacked? Do you see it happening again? We do not need more military spending, in fact it should be cut.
Would some Democrat somewhere, sometime, care to call out the giant corporate welfare program called the defense budget. It is so bloated America just can’t have nice things.
They are really pushing the deadline. Will Rand Paul sense an invitation to pull another of his stunts? We may end up with a weekend shutdown, symbolic of little except the fact that Republicans cannot overcome their own dark motivations and keep the lights on and must never be trusted with the levers of power.
You can count on RepubliKKKlans to break the record and have THREE Government Shutdowns this year with more to come!
Even the AP called out this issue:
Sen. Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., was working on Trump’s behalf against
funding for a Hudson River tunnel and rail project that’s important to
Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., and Republicans from New
York and New Jersey.
It’s really too bad Schumer can’t introduce a resolution calling on trump to breathe.
Please raise your hands if you are like me and would give just about anything to see someone throw a water balloon full of cat piss at Paul Ryan’s goony-bird face.
And please keep those hands raised for a while as I count them, since it may take a bit of time, considering the probable thousands that will be raised.
“The president, meanwhile, has privately threatened to veto the whole package if a $900 million payment is made on the Hudson River Gateway Project … The Gateway Project would add an $11 billion rail tunnel under the Hudson River to complement deteriorating, century-old tunnels that are at risk of closing in a few years.”
Why does the president* hate infrastructure?
So…just to make sure I am following along correctly…
The GOP passes a multi trillion dollar tax cut to revenues.
They are about to pass a huge appropriations bill that increases both defense and domestic spending…without hardly a murmur about increasing spending on domestic departments they despise.
Cut revenues + Increase spending = Bigger deficit.
They are laying the groundwork for 1 of 2 things…possibly both. 1) Exploding the deficit so they can once again become “deficit hawks” when a new Democratic President takes office in 2020. 2) Exploding the deficit to make it easier for Ryan to move on to his next step, which is eliminating Medicare, Medicaid and SSI because “there is no money left”.
Which ever of those strategies they are following…it really might be in Dems best interest to point out…vigorously…that cutting revenues and increasing spending explodes the deficit.
Hey this isn’t over till the wannabe king speaks.
He will show up and blow it all up in minutes and then blame the democrats for the shutdown.
Same story 3 times now isn’t it?
I thought just the thought of the new tax laws would make the economy go so well we’d never have any more deficits?
