Discussion: Lankford On Stalled Obamacare Repeal Vote: ‘This Is A No-Fail Moment’

Another tone deaf idiot speaks.

So much winning. I for one favor Senator Lankford’s plan to get all the winners together in one room and let them win some more.

Sometimes when describing shit, you are forced to use the word shit.

It has nothing to do with banning books. Using the n-word is not appropriate in this forum. It is a despicable word with a horrific history, and it has no place in civil conversation.

“This is a kind of a no-fail moment that you have to be able to resolve all these issues”

Well, he may be aware the window is closing on the Republicans riding the coat tails of Trump. So get what you can before it is shut completely.

It’s not the word itself that has power, it’s the ideas behind the word.

When you hear someone say insurance rates have gone up 76% like this asshole did, don’t take their word for it. Rates? Sounds like he doesn’t know the difference between insurance premiums, deductibles, and copays. Many people who never had insurance don’t either or are still learning. What’s this guy’s excuse though? He’s a fucking US Senator. Lumping everything together and calling them ‘rates’ really shows how much effort he’s willing to put into his bullshit.

Premiums were going up before Obamacare at a faster pace. Obamacare slowed that process and regulated that insurance companies couldn’t go up by that same formula those companies had used before. Even companies under 50 employees who aren’t forced to cover their workers have seen those premiums increases slow down. They were going up at an outrageous rate before the ACA became law. Those are the facts. This fucking carrot top lies. Its as simple as that. Lying has become an acceptable behavior in the GOP, especially with that Clown King as their Liar-in-Chief.

So far, none of the GOP based plans do what he wants though. At least not for everyone. Premiums at best would go down for those that have not as much need for insurance and go up for everybody else. Pricing them out of the market.

Not saying the premium increases are good or anything, but it seems like the GOP likes to remove aspects of the ACA that were supposed to help it work better and avoid some of these and then propose no solutions other than look at the problem.

Lying suck. Oklahoma’s insurance rates skyrocketed because you deeply red aholes decided it was worth a little pain to your constituents to FK with them and make them ‘think’ it was Obamacare that was hurting them instead of their very own, duly elected DICKHEADS. They can’t ‘afford’ the same healthcare that they couldn’t ‘afford’ or even GET prior to 2010. And WTF is “American beef” you sanctimonious peckerhead?

A couple observations.

  1. Having dinner with a handful of your most steadfast Senate supporters is not winning over any votes, as became obvious last night. The two Senators who needed to be at that dinner were instead busy scuttling the bill.

  2. There but by the Grace of God,… How different might this have gone had the AHCA not been designed to gut Medicaid – which the GOP Congress did NOT run in favor of and DJT specifically ran against?

And…if you thought Sen. Lee was a no vote on this bill yesterday, have another cup of coffee. This bastard changed his mind because McConnell wants to repeal the law entirely now without a replacement plan. So, he didn’t vote for a MTP because it wasn’t onerous enough, but today…no problem. If it hurts enough people, apparently its OK with him that it now proceeds. Fucking Utah has this numbskull as their Senator, and I assume they have no idea how much he’s willing to go out of his way to screw them over. Why else do people vote for these heartless pricks? These Thugs are insufferable.

Moreover, the Trump administration’s straight up bellicose refusal to actually do the job of the executive branch wherein Obamacare is concerned is what’s making things worse. (Although, for the life of me, I can’t see why this isn’t illegal. How is this not the same as an on-duty fireperson refusing to lift a finger while a house burns down unnecessarily, with people inside it?)

I don’t love Obamacare (because I’d prefer single-payer – honestly, the amount of BS that can accrue with insurance is draining; dealing with such while ailing – and not affluent enough to hire someone else to deal with it – is burdensome … anyway, I could go on; but my point is – myself and people like me compromised (you know, the thing that politics is supposed to do, hammering out compromises across the swathes of demographics to improve life for society at large) on Obamacare. It seems like the majority of congressional Republicans need to go back to Kindergarten or Pre-K and learn how to share.
