I expect Miller will refuse to sign it because it still allows immigration
The word âplanâ is misplaced.
White House senior adviser Jared Kushner presented Republican senators with an immigration plan that would increase border security while also maintaining the current level of legal immigrants in the country, Politico reported.
Kushner has been quietly working on the plan for months and told lawmakers Tuesday that he believes he has the support of President Trump and some of the more conservative members of the administration, despite the presidentâs past calls to significantly cut legal immigration. Kushner reportedly crafted the plan in hopes of giving Trump solid immigration policy to stand on as he heads into 2020.
So Iâm reading into this that the Kush didnât consult with any Republican lawmakers while crafting his plan. This could be fun if in the House whatever committee has jurisdiction over immigration policy asks the Kush to come testify, or will the WH invoke executive privilege?
They will have to sign a Contract giving Mr Trump 75% of their wages .
Thatâs nice. Bring in skilled people who will work at US companies for low wages, putting our skilled workforce out of work and/or lowering their salaries. Nice touch to help the corporate interests. Follow the money.
The âmore conservative members of the administrationâ will mindlessly support whatever trump tells them to support - with any pain included in the plan (like banning workers from bringing their families with them) an added bonus.
The House hearings would definitely be interesting, while in the Senate trumpâs manservant McConnell can be relied upon to go along with anything supported by trump.
The plan will focus on expanding merit-based immigration policy, giving priority to
high-skilledwhite-skinned workers who want to come to the U.S.
FIFY!
Um, wasnât âThe Wallâ solid enough?
Well, at least with their Java crops.
You wait right here. Iâll go get Warren!
