Discussion: Kushner Has Been Dodging A DNC Lawsuit Service Notice For Months

This does not inspire confidence in the DNC.

They are dealing with a crime family. I strongly recommend they get a LOT cleverer and a LOT tougher — FAST

Why not hire a hooker to deliver the goods? I hear the Kushner men can’t resist.

I’m not exactly sure why some people think the DNC has expert process-servers on staff or why their skill at this particular legal task would meaningfully translate to regular political dealings.

Perhaps folks are just looking to express outraeg about something on the Internet.

He’s above the law. Lawsuits are suppose to come from the Kushner and Trump families, not the other way around. I’m sure this is a well-practicd technique by them.

Yup. It’s almost as if the DNC is a pet peeve for some people, the way for others it’s recumbent bicycles or hard-to-open packaging.

They protect family members. Jared gets protected because he’s married to Donnie’s Lust Object.

Why they are protecting him from a legal process server is beyond me. Per Rachel Maddow last night, the next step is apparently to get the judges’ permission to send the notice via Snail Mail to the White House. I would assume they will use a registered letter and waive signature.

Most responsible people with a respect for the law and legal processes, who found themselves in Kushner’s position, would have their attorney contact the other party and say the attorney will accept service on behalf of the client. This avoids embarrassment, unnecessary difficulty getting around obstacles like Secret Service protection restrictions, etc., and allows the litigation to proceed (probably, in this case, with a preliminary motion to dismiss).

Most responsible people with respect.

Isn’t Kushner a member of the New York bar? That behavior may be ok for his father-in-law, who is a non-lawyer, but not somebody who knows the system. Even Nixon got that. And given his own good lawyers, sheesh.

I didn’t know DWS was still running the DNC?

Any SS agent complicit in obstructing justice must be punished once we’ve purged the nation of the cancer infecting it at the moment.

I saw this earlier today and was thinking about getting onto Snopes to see if this was legit.

How.
Is,
This.
Possible?

How can a citizen REFUSE a lawsuit? I’ve never heard of such a thing… Talk about privileged.

This isn’t up to the DNC. It’s up to the process servers. The DNC has done its job - the servers are failing (and yes, that was deliberate).

Not sure what the recourse is on this, because shame by going public on the failure isn’t going to change anything.

Recumbent bicycles.

Shouldn’t the Secret Service be accused of obstruction of justice? But, at least I’ve learned something today. If I’m ever served I can just ignore it. Thanks. Didn’t realize I could do that.

Attorney spouse says the judge will almost certainly allow service by publication or by first class mail. Kushner is obviously dodging service and the courts don’t like that.

Per Jill Wine-banks on O’Donnell (she was Watergate legal), they served Nixon by serving his lawyers – way back when there was still respect for the rule of law. The U.S. Mail is the way to go. Neither rain, nor sleet, nor snow, nor … obstruction …

Really???
I suppose if they had put Keith Ellison and Bernie Sanders’ hand picked top aides in charge of the DNC, serving process on a resourceful sleazy relative of Donald Trump using his Secret Service detail to evade service of process would have been easy peazy lemon squeezy?
