Tragedies like these, when people are devastated and humbled, are usually the turning point in people’s lives as they begin to understand and accept what it is a family member was dealing with. Unfortunately this person is still a slave to his own hatred.

No one addressed Alford’s comments during the Legislative Coffee event. Sen. John Doll, R-Garden City, and Rep. John Wheeler, R-Garden City, fielded questions alongside Alford as part of the session.

No one stood up to object or offer a different opinion.
They should all apologize for letting Alford go unchallenged.

We desperately need a higher quality of leadership in this country. Yes, this was racist, but it was also off the scale stupid. This guy, like so many in public office, is not capable of having an intelligent discussion on this or any other policy issue.

You can’t make this stuff up, yet these idiots do just that. Duh, marijuana prohibition was intended to opress poor and minority citizens. No two ways about it. I smoked pot once, it made me want to rape and kill, whitey. LOL
