No.
That was the pre-election RWNJ canned talking point.

  1. Deferred adjudication is not amnesty
  2. It’s not an impeachable offense
  3. Bring it on

no it isn’t

All he said was, “Let’s be humane in enforcing the law.” That was my reaction last night when (xxx) argued that the federal government should refrain from deporting illegal immigrants who had been in the U.S. for many years if the effect would be the break up of a family.

I did not take him to be proposing a new law conferring amnesty. To do what (xxx) proposed would require no change in U.S. law. All you’d need is the sensible application of prosecutorial discretion.

Liberal media coming to defense of a lawlessly unconstitutional President?

Apparently, it really is OK if you’re a Republican.

I agree that it’s a sign of how completely degenerate our mainstream media is, but that’s been blindingly obvious for well over a decade. What enrages me is that the Democratic Party has yet to demonstrate the slightest awareness of this fact. They still think that issuing a blandly-worded press release to NPR will be enough to get their message out there.

Where are the Dem Senators to support Obama? Are any of them holding press conferences pointing out the gigantic hypocrisy of the GOP and Charles Krauthammer? Are any of them holding court on the floor of the Senate making this point? What about Pelosi?

These feckless dickheads wouldn’t know how to sell meth to a jittery tweaker in Harlan County.

They’re going to whip their base into such a frothing at the mouth frenzy that they’ll be forced to try and impeach the President.

Why don’t they just wait to see what he in fact does and whether it’s is different from what other Presidents have done? If they don’t like his interpretation existing laws they can take it to court or they can pass a new law. So far nothing looks remotely like a high crime or misdemeanor.

If you don’t provide the funds for all the things you say you want the Federal government to do, it sure gives the executive a whole lot of latitude. Conservatives need to learn to look at consequences.

Chammy, the dynamic has changed since Citizen’s United became law.
Advertising revenue is king.
That drives content based on the ideology of the advertisers–
as there’s so much (R) dark money to be spent now.

So, the media outlets take the cash, and report the slanted views-- or the slide down the revenue scale.
With so many jobs (and careers) on the line?
Even if one’s political ideology were opposed-- you’d have to consider the consequences of not taking the money/advertisements. And if I had to guess? Much of the MSM at the executive-level is less-than-liberal.

Sorry to say so-- but this is where we’re at.

Do they know that Reagan, their beloved idol president did the same thing.?

And of course, it’s only the Democrats that bring up impeachment.

Second

Also, G.H.W.Bush did same - in both cases due to Congressional inaction and with the intent that these actions would be superceded by actual laws passed by a Congress doing its actual work.

I hope the President cites both of these examples when he signs his Executive Order, and that he draws a clear timeline of Republican House inaction since the truly bipartisan Senate bill passed. John Boehner’s had two years to bring a bill to the floor and he’s done nothing. This isn’t “gridlock” or “Congressional disfunction” - it’s Republican disfunction and it’s time everyone from the President on down calls it that, and nothing but that.
