Discussion: Kobach And Kansas Dems Set Up For Another Showdown In Senate Drama

Discussion for article #227865

Surely there is a registered democrat somewhere in Kansas named Pat Roberts… Find him, put him on the ballot, and let Kobach deal with it.

You don’t have to put a member of your own party on the ballot as your nominee. Declare Kris Kobach the Democratic candidate

Someone in another thread says Dems should pic a candidate named “Roberts.” I love that idea.

The Democrats should nominate Milton Wolf!

The wing nuts go around crying about “freedom” and how it is being diminished except when it goes against their agenda. It seems to me one of the principles of democracy is your choice of being willing to participate…Its very anti “freedom” if a political party is required to put up a candidate unless your hoping they split the vote!

Yeah, nominate Pat Roberts.

As of today, Kobach is in violation of US Law and should be arrested.

If the Democratic Party wishes to play games with our election laws and not nominate a replacement, then I encourage the members of the press corps to ask them why.

The courts have ruled on the relevant election law, and now he’s calling on the press to explicitly pressure the Democrats. Is there any way he could be more blatantly political?

Is there someone in Kanasas with the last name of “Nebraska”? Put him on the ballot. He’ll get as many votes as a blank space.

My understanding was Kobach testified that he had to get the ballots out by today. Shouldn’t he be charged with perjury? And by all means if it comes to it nominate someone named Pat Roberts.

Well if it is true that Kobach told the supreme court that the ballot had to be printed by today in his previous lawsuit, why would he ever risk appearing before the same court to explain that he lied in order to try to persuade them to find in his favor?

So, David Orel wants to vote for a Democrat? Assuming they allow write-in votes in Kansas, write in the Democrat of your choice, David. Sanford is running unopposed in South Carolina and Democrats there have the same write-in option. I don’t hear Republicans complaining about that!

“He is now demanding that the Democratic Party select a new candidate”

or what? will he hold his breath until he turns blue? …

I some respects, it would make sense to make Greg Orman the Democratic nominee if they are forced to name one, but that also would play into Korbach’s hands by re-enforcing Robertson’s charge that Orman is a Democrat in Independent’s clothing.

I want to hear just what this state law is that Kobach claims says the Democrats have to put someone on the ballot.

That is EXACTLY what I was thinking!! If this dumbshit Sec. of State just INSISTS on the Democrats naming someone–then they will—all they have to do is find someone named Pat Roberts and run him as a Democrat. Then just sit back and watch him squirm!!!
