Discussion: Kim Davis Calls Herself A 'Solider For Christ' In Recently Acquired Emails

That ship probably sailed some time ago.

Not shocked but I never got some of the terms some of these people use. “God is alive!” It is a reference to Jesus being resurrected and so on. But it is an odd sentiment for a being that would be eternal and incapable of death. And would such a being even be alive in any sense we would be able to grasp? Jesus would have been, but even then that gets confusing.

She’s scary with all that imaginary God babble that fills her empty head. Religion is dangerous. Millions of Americans truly think like Kim Davis. THEY are why we can’t have nice things!

I don’t follow? The OT is very clear (clean?) on this: it’s a strict prohibition, regarding male homosexuality.

That said: I think Leviticus is a bunch of fictional fantasy bullsh*t made up by some desert nomads thousands of years ago, and has exactly zero legal authority over anyone today. If you choose to believe Leviticus, by all means follow it’s proscriptions - indeed, follow them all! But my personal faith - which is protected by the First Amendment - says that Leviticus is a bunch of evil horse-hockey and the word of the devil. The first Amendment protects me from the Government (Kim Davis) forcing her beliefs (Leviticus) on me. The upside-down view of the law promulgated by Liberty Counsel and Jay Sekulow’s outfit notwithstanding, the purpose of the 1st Amendment is to prevent Kim Davises from establishing their religion as the official religion.

Yeah, but this lady is a Christian. Leviticus is Jewish law.

I guess she’s not familiar with that part about “Let him who is without sin cast the first stone” and so forth…

I actually got into a Twitter exchange with Ms Davis (seriously…not kidding) and I took screenshots of it. Yep…it also was a doozy

She holds an elected position and there isn’t anybody with the authority to fire her. If she runs for re-election she would likely win easily. If she started speaking in tongues and handling serpents it would likely only improve her standing with the voters.

It is evident to EVERYBODY that this addict just traded one addiction for another: Drugs for Religion.
She went from being addicted to Mind-Destroying Drugs to being addicted to Mind-Destroying Religion, and just like any other addict she will consume and consume until it destroys her, constantly seeking the next fix as her need grows.
Sad really.

Funny–I enjoyed reading that.

I’m actually curious, how does one know that he/she has been forgiven by God? Did she hear directly from him? If so, she should probably be institutionalized.

I think we are just going to have to subpoena God, have him/her swear to him/herself under oath (he/she can use his/her own bible… if he/she has one) to tell the truth and let us know what exactly we are supposed to do. If he/she does not appear to testify… game over, and Kim becomes the Grand Marshall for all Gay Pride parades.

You get a receipt in the mail, and it’s been notarized. I thought everyone knew this.

These idiots are committing blasphemy. Blasphemy can be defined as “believing that you are fully understanding God”. If God is bigger than men, you cannot understand him. Thus, blasphemy consists of reducing God to your limited conception of Her.

This woman is blaspheming.

Back in the old days when people said they’ve been talking to doG and s’doG been telling them to do crazy sh!t we used up their dose of Thorazine or Haldol. Today, we make them county clerks.

We’ve come a long way, baby.

Well, I see that the religio “authorities” differ on what part of Old Testament or all parts various Christian sects are bound to accept. Never heard this before. Leviticus is part of Catholic bible for example, but I don’t know if it was excised in other religions as part of the Reformation or what,

It’s all fictional fantasy to me, but for believers, I guess it depends on what kind of Christian one is. Right now Leviticus is still part of the Catholic Bible, for example. Every kooky sentence of bleedin’ Leviticus.

She inherited the office from her parent. She intends to pass it on to her child. That office is her private property.

Actually, this is the major reason why the Catholic Church in Rome declared that priests could not marry. That way they would not be able to pass the office they occupied to their children as an inheritance. Illegitimate children could not inherit. It is probably the single most important barrier to permitting priests to marry.

This tradition that a public office could not be inherited was continued when private businesses started incorporating. The office belongs to the corporation, not to the occupant.

“September 1 will be the day to prepare for, if the Lord doesn’t return before then,” Davis wrote him. “I have weighed the cost, and will stay the course.”

So, ummmm…yeah. She was at least bracing for the possibility that Armageddon would unfold before the court date.
