Roger Williams is your rep? He’s running some barftastic commercials! I don’t remember seeing his ads in previous cycles, so maybe at least he feels he has to make a tiny effort now.
Any of Austin’s gerrymandered reps are worthy of your opprobrium, although Williams is not as reprehensible as science-denier Lamar Smith, who is mercifully not running for re-election.
I think everyone in my neighborhood still regards Lloyd Doggett as their rep, even though he was gerrymandered away some time ago.

Yeah they deliberately gerrymandered Lloyd’s district and he still wins.
I worked on Lloyd’s senate campaign in 1984. He didn’t make it but he did make it to the House.

The news articles on this would be more informative if they said something about the partisan lean of the district West is running in. If it’s Republican enough, he is probably going to win.
It reminded me of a guy named Nolan West, who won a Minnesota House seat in 2016. The district is in the northern suburbs of the Twin Cities, MN-02 Congressional district - the one formerly held by nutjob extraordinaire Michelle Bachmann. Prior to the 2008 election, Mr. West commented on social media, “It’s lynching time.” - presumably in reference to the Democratic candidate for President. That was followed by some comments on how Abraham Lincoln was he worst President in US history. West won. It was by less than 1%, but he still won.
"We wholeheartedly condemn his comments.” But he’s still our kind of candidate…
