Disarray .-- GOP being definition of —
GOP: “The sooner we can offer new, concrete, practical alternatives, the sooner we can repeal.”
I think I spot the fundamental flaw in Republican strategy right there…
A replacement plan is not going to descend from heaven no matter how many Hail Marys you recite. You’re going to need to do the hard work of coming up with a compromise enough Republicans support. Failing that, you’ve got a massive shitstorm headed your way.
(And no, you can’t blame the black man anymore.)
No, no, no, Trump said he would have something terrific on January 20th. My rate and co-pays when up. I blame Trump.
Chiselin’ Trump’s web site still says that he’ll call for a “full repeal” of Obamacare “on day one”:
On day one of the Trump Administration, we will ask Congress to immediately deliver a full repeal of Obamacare.
GOP “alternative” snake oil: sell unaffordable insurance across state lines, and call it a plan.
can they hire some people to do their thinking for them? they haven’t come up with a plan in the last 6 years but they have been able to vote for a repeal 60 times with no replace plan. weird how they think.
They have no idea how to govern. They will have hearings up to wazoo, they will rename post offices, they will decree national days and months of whatever (National Count Chocula Day), they will write up and attempt to pass unnecessary legislation to defund Planned Parenthood, outlaw Sharia Law, make English the official language, pass tax cuts, try to initiate a constitutional Amendment to make Christianity the state religion, and similar right wing nonsense. But. They. Will. Not. Govern. All these malefactors know how to do is break things.
“we can repeal those parts of Obamacare that have damaged the American people”
WHICH PEOPLE???
GOP, CAN YOU COME UP WITH JUST ONE HORROR STORY?? ONE VICTIM??
Cooler heads are starting to feel a little nervous, knowing that Trump will just blame congress when the ____ hits the fan because none of the republicans calling for repeal thought it through about replacement. Six years is a long time to rant about something and not have a viable solution ready to offer the public.
The eternal cynic in me thinks Lamar Alexander’s definition of “a new and better alternative” may differ from mine.
“We have to take each part of it and consider what it would take to create a new and better alternative and then begin to create that alternative and once it’s available to the American people, then we can finally repeal Obamacare,”
GOP, if your replacement plan does not exist then how can you know now that it’s a “better alternative”?
This is insanity on steroids.
eagle eye
I was so sure their Day-One bill would just replace it with “Something Tremendous.”
Mission Accomplished!
So what the hell have they been trying to pass for the last several years? It sure seems like they wanted to repeal the ACA completely before having even a rough outline of a replacement plan.
Not true. The “malefactors,” as you so generously call them, are also World-class Looters. In fact, it may be their Number One (and only) Certifiable Claim to Fame.
(Note: I’ve argued with people in the past who claim they are also World-class Liars. I maintain they’re not even good at that, so brazen and instantly disprovable are their lies. Hell, they’re not even capable of telling a decent lie when they’re caught and claim they “misspoke.”)
the sooner we can repeal those parts of Obamacare (taxes) that have damaged (increased taxes) the American people (my richest donors)," Alexander said.
There are some people you look at and listen to, people like McConnell and Alexander, and you wonder how is it possible that these people have been chosen to have power over anything, much less inordinate power over the lives of millions of Americans.
