AH… regardless she should not be confirmed.

Watching this confirmation is going to be very interesting. If she’s not confirmed, that will be a significant indication of how far the GOPs are willing to let Dump & co. swing in the breeze.

Trump: Singapore, she can’t-
Sekulow: A brilliant idea!
Trump: testify against me.

The only nomination McFarland has earned is five-to-ten as a press operator in the license-plate shop.

I’m confused. She’s already committed perjury, why do we need to hear from her again?

So many screwups in Trump’s circle and so many more to come. I’ll bet that before this is over there will be more convicted felons from this administration than Reagan’s (138).

Even a tyro like McFarland must have suspected they were doing something wrong but, as Josh’s article on Flynn pointed out, if their actions occurred during the transition rather than the campaign they could have just told the truth and taken the heat – what they did was unethical and improper but not necessarily felonious – so why did they all, including experienced hands like Flynn, lie about it?

Other than panic the only thing I can think of is they are covering for the fool at the top of the heap: ol’ 45, the orange shitgibbon himself, was playing in the pigpen with them the whole way; the (as yet to be) unindicted co-conspirator.

Which makes me just as confused as I suspect a lot of folks must be as to why she is up for nomination for anything other than another session in Mueller’s pigeon chair.

Let’s hope this is the first raft that is upset by the Flynn wave.

It is remarkable that just the material in the plea bargain document that has been published has been enough to bring McFarland’s testimony into question. If I were in the Singapore government, it would be embarrassing to have this mediocrity (and that’s on the high side of the scale) as an ambassador from a major power.

Is it too early to get my vanity plate request in?

KT McFarland won’t have a need to clarify anything. She will withdraw herself from consideration for the ambassadorship. Just a wild ass guess that Ms McFarland has hired an attorney.

As Josh pointed out, these are the sorts of people who are attracted to Trump -liars.

Hold on a minute, folks. There’s no way of knowing who sent those emails from her account. Repeatedly.

She fits the mold of all the other Trump appointees: no qualifications and no brain. So what’s the problem? Almost all the others have been confirmed.

Could have been Trump’s lawyer…

“The onus is on her honor.”

Which is why she will refuse to clear up her testimony.

That’s exactly what the Pope said.

Ms. McFarland should reconsider and withdraw her nomination for Ambassador, as the US has an extradition treaty with Singapore . . .

McFarland should have to give testimony to clear up the recent revelation or else withdraw her name from consideration for the posting; she needs to be in the country and available for grand jury testimony in the future.

He probably figures she ain’t gonna do no clarifyin’, so just an amusingly officious way of saying she shouldn’t get the post.

A bit off topic, but can someone tell me…just where the hell do these republican women get these bright-red paramilitary outfits with the brass buttons up to the throat? Is there like a republican ladies’ costume shop on K Street?
