Rubio would/will face a hard battle to hold on to his seat in 2016, both from primary challenges and in a general election. He road the tea party wave in 2010 without under going much scrutiny. Since then he has lost a great deal of that tea party support with his immigration bill, and the tea party itself has lost a lot of influence in state wide elections.
His move regarding running for Senate is going to be determined by John Ellis Bush’s standing in the polls. If Bush is doing extremely well, he will run for Senate. If not, he will run for VP (and lets not kid ourselves…he is only running for a VP slot).
Her platform as Miss America was Veteran’s Affairs and she has remained quite active in same. She is pretty well loved throughout the state but her husband has a little baggage and she was in a terrible car accident a few years back that killed a bicyclist, it was her fault. She’s active and popular in KY Democratic Party and would be a nice candidate regardless. Very nice person, very smart and I’d vote for her in a heartbeat.
She’s pretty close with the Clinton’s too and the Clinton’s are pretty well liked in KY, so there’s that.
I had no idea Heather was considering a run. If anyone could do it, she’d probably be our best bet. I just don’t think anyone can win as long as scary black president who is scary is still in office. Sure, he’ll be leaving before her term would begin but you can’t discount the stupid or the racism that runs so deep and wide in the state of KY. That’s why it still kills me when non-KYians complain about Grimes’ non-answer where it concerned voting for Obama. There. Was. No. Good. Answer. Saying she voted for Obama would’ve been far worse than the mushy answer she gave. Anyone who lives in KY knows that.
Has the idea occurred to not-Republican/ Republican Ryand that he will lose both campaigns?
Ryand is basically a man without a country, an empty ideal.
Senate President is Mitchy Mitch’s job. Reading between the lines, Ryand expects the Repubs to still control the Senate in 2016 and that they will anoint him speaker.
Why was it bad for Obama to be a Senator for 4 years and be told he’s too inexperienced to be president
yet with Paul it’s OK and no mention of what a short time he’s been there???
I’m sure the KY GOP will endorse any outlandish scam Paul can gin up. As long as the law stands they’re just whistling in the dark. Shouldn’t they be doing actual work of some kind? Were I a constituent, I’d strongly suggest they turn their attention to rebuilding the their possibly fubar brand.
Nah, the KY GOP is too busy blocking every bit of progress Democrats put forward to bring this state into the 21st century. That’s just what the people who elected them, the ones who most need real progress, intended because they’re gripped with fear that marauding bands of black men will take their daughters.
Because there are actual, real things to either laugh or go after Ryand on. Barack wasn’t a phony libertarian, nor a plagiarist, nor a for war/not for war bozo. The wingnuts had nothing and still don’t.
