Nice to see Carol Costello stand up Trump party line for a change,maybe because Pierson was attacking CNN.
But in general I’m sick of her bending over backwards to defend the Trumpites insanity in a supposed attempt to be ‘balanced’. In reality just wanting to keep Republican viewers.

A lot has been said about Trump’s comment

“I am who I am. It’s me. I don’t want to change. Everyone talks about, ‘Oh, well you’re going to pivot.’ I don’t want to pivot,” Trump said in a Tuesday interview with Wisconsin television station WKBT. “I mean, you have to be you. If you start pivoting, you’re not being honest with people.”

And I was also thinking about Harry Frankfurt’s essay, “On Bullshit” At the conclusion, Frankfurt writes:

But it is preposterous to imagine that we ourselves are determinate, and hence susceptible both to correct and to incorrect descriptions, while supposing that the ascription of determinacy to anything else has been exposed as a mistake. As conscious beings, we exist only in response to other things, and we cannot know ourselves at all without knowing them. Moreover, there is nothing in theory, and certainly nothing in experience, to support the extraordinary judgment that it is the truth about himself that is the easiest for a person to know. Facts about ourselves are not peculiarly solid and resistant to skeptical dissolution. And arguing from Frankfurt’s authority, Trump’s “I am who I am” is ultimately bullshit.
