Discussion: Kasich: 'I Certainly Hope' Roy Moore Doesn't Represent The GOP's Future

John Kasich hopes Roy Moore doesn’t represent the GOP’s future?

Interesting. That’s a little akin to hoping the moon doesn’t orbit the Earth… I mean, you can hope that the world ain’t the way it is, but that’s not very practical. The Republican Party has been so busy rejecting reality all around, this governor’s pearl-clutching is just so much drama. One might just as well “hope” that the Republican Party would, you know, object to a treasonous traitor as president, but, on that point even this dip-stuff is utterly silent.

I had thought that Trump’s candidacy was an existential crisis for the Republican Party, and now I see/understand that it is perfect for them. They get to make noises from time-to-time, deploring this, that, or the other thing that some other Republican has done or said, while they otherwise do NOTHING about it. Based on the evidence of their actions we can assume that Republicans:

  1. are all in with racists policies;
  2. they all believe the press should be subservient to the White House;
  3. they think NAZIs and the KKK are representatives of their own values, and are “fine people”;
  4. that perjury to Congress is okay for white guys;
  5. that being a Russian Agent is not disqualifying for any, (and I do mean any), position in the U.S. Government

Governor Kasich is just one more of these “Party before Country” traitors.

Exactly. And you ARE living in a house you built yourself, with a lot of help from Gingrich and the whole ‘anything Dems do is BAAAAD!’ crew.

I never imagined I’d look at Nixon wistfully.

Bless you. Generic, reality-based universe blessing, but real none the less.

Yep. Real inconvenient, all that ‘women are people too’ stuff.

Trump and Moore are your boys John! Your Party OWNS them! Giving lame disappointment statements about the state of your Party doesn’t cut it, If there is Republican leadership now would be a good time to stand up. But that won’t happen. Your Party has a chance at tax cuts for the wealthy so nothing else matters. Especially Blacks, Latinos, LGBQTs and Americans living in Puerto Rico! Very narrow sighted and destructive. Be a leader John! That’s what any other boy of postal worker parents from Pittsburgh would do! You can take the boy out of the 'Burgh but not the 'Burgh out of the boy! Except Orrin Hatch.

Bobby Jindal said the Republicans were turning into the Stupid Party.

They have gone beyond that.

They are now the Asshole Party.

We’ve been listening to limp republicans claim they are “concerned” about the direction the party is going and yet:

  1. keep supporting them with cash
  2. keep voting for them
  3. keep voting for the legislative shit they concoct
  4. apologize rather than hold to account

Impeach and replace. Dipstick. Or get out of the way while we do it.

Moore is the Republican Party, what contrary evidence is there? Moore likes pulling out weapons … make the Congress 2 Commandment friendly as a welcoming touch.

I wanted someone to start a National Front type 50 state party full of White Nationalists, Sovereign Citizens, and bible thumpers to siphon votes from the GOP. Instead that party is now the zombie GOP. Be careful what you wish for.

If John Kasich didn’t exist, the MSM would have had to invent him. Because the MSM has been as complicit as he was through their decade long embargo on anyone who dared to point out that the Republican Party was radicalizing and the Democratic Party wasn’t.

Shorter Kasich: I am the moderate Republican for 2020.

Time for republicans like Katich, Collins, Murkowski, etc. to join the Democrats. The GOP left them a long time ago.

There is no such thing as a moderate republican, any more than there is a moderate member of the Taliban.

Kasich is not a Democrat. We have a big tent, but it isn’t big enough for the likes of John Kasich in his current incarnation. He’d have a whole lot of things to change before he could be a Democrat.

This why I never thought Kasich was the saint he was made out to be. He’s really not that bright. Roy Moore is the future of the GOP ans the GOP made sure of that. Where does he think his party is going? Trump? Pence? Cruz? Lee? Paul? Where is that hodgepodge of misfits from? The GOP.

Voters decide who they want to send to Washington and state houses nationwide. They pick politicians that appeal to their emotions more so than to their common sense. Emotional voting causes citizens to vote against their own self interest. Emotional voting coupled with provable lies are two reason Donald Trump won the presidency. A vote for Hillary Clinton was a vote for the continuation of Barack Obama’s agenda. Trump supporters hated and still hate Barack Obama.

After getting elected to the presidency Trump completely flipped the script and forgot all of the promises he made. He told avid supporters that he was going to bring back their jobs from abroad. He was going to make Mexico pay for “a big beautiful wall with big beautiful door”. Mexico said not in this lifetime. Suddenly the wall is now a limited see-thru fence.

Trump said when he got to Washington he was going to “drain the swamp”, a slogan he lifted from Nancy Pelosi. Instead of draining the swamp Trump enlarged it with his own millionaire alligators and snakes with a high taste for private jets and planes. Whatever Trump promised his supporters they believed. Trump and his administration are living high on the hog, and not one of his voters have been invited to the parties.

I remember a time when I considered him a hard-right rather mean asshole. Nothing has changed except that his party moved to his right.
