Discussion: Kamala Harris Hauls In $12M In First Fundraising Quarter

The average donation from her digital side was $28 — but that’s only half the story. Harris did not release what her actual average donation was, a sign it’s likely higher than other candidates’ and that her fundraising apparatus is more reliant on big donors

While I prefer candidates who do not rely on large donations, I am glad she is finding support. I can only hope she uses some of the money to better address questions about some of her shifts in policy.

Respectable sum.

Sure, but how long before we hear Sen Harris inappropriately smelled a lady’s hair and rubbed her nose?

ETA: Too Soon?

Excellent!

Now Team George can hate on her for that, too.

(PS: Don’t tell them that Bernie’s desperate to bag over twice that.)

Once Biden declares, she’s going to be facing rough straits.

Harris is my pick thus far…

Are you sure about that? Biden hasn’t even announced and he’s already having problems.

I am noticing that some people are going after her for her career as a Prosecutor and AG. The candidates those people support are gonna be in rough straits too.

Somewhat sure.

Today’s news isn’t stopping him

It’s taking him ages to make up his mind. But at least he has a pre-announcement spokesperson to parse his bad, pre-announcement press.

That dude is terrible.

It shouldn’t shock anyone that they are going after the record. Seeing that she’s going to be in the first debate, I’d like to know what changed her mind about decriminalisation and stuff.

From announcing?.. probably not.

From winning the nomination? Not sure.

Good numbers for Harris and she’s building a nice network. I was expecting closer to $15 mill but I did not expect that many contributors so her numbers will grow. She’s the best politician among any of the Dems running and is in the center of the Dems’ ideological circle. There is no group of voters who is closed off to her. Her background as a prosecutor resonates with an electorate that is looking to go after a corrupt GOP and entrenched power.

She has to know it’s coming.

Politicians evolve on issues, as does the nation.

She’s moving to positions that have political momentum. A lot of people as evolving in the same direction.

She should have an easy enough time.

She hasn’t changed her mind. She has been a pragmatic reformer. It’s not on the first Black AG of CA to fix an entire cj system, but she has some real achievements to show for it while preserving law and order credentials that are important to the wider electorate.

Here’s my thing : I don’t want a perfect candidate and candidates evolve, but she ran against a modern day Republican who is for decriminalisation.

So I’d like to know why she’s now for it.

Agreed. I think she works well enough in all the places we need. Great in the west and all the traditional dem strongholds. I think she can pick up where Obama left off in NC, and GA (especially if Abrams is running for Senate). She plays well where the party is growing.

I haven’t seem anything that makes me see her obvious connection to the rust belt, like manufacturing issues etc… where the party has weakened.

I’d rather the top of the ticket play to the growth side and VP play to the other. Like Obama/Biden did.

Harris/Brown 2020.

(I know, i know…the Senate seat… I say it’s useless if we dont win the presidency,)

I hadn’t expressed it to myself in those terms but yes, this actually is one of the reasons I am tending towards her. We’re going to need somebody who understands prosecutorial processes as we clean the Augean stables.

I also think this background will attract some traditional “middle of the road” Republicans currently hiding out in either the Democratic or “Independent” tents, and as a Californian she hasn’t managed to scare me in any or her previous roles. I do think there’s a likely hood she’ll piss off some on the left, who’ll possibly see a “Republican lite” but overall I think her tent will be pretty large.

I do love Warren and her focus on Wall Street malfeasance but so far (and yes, it’s still really early) I’m trending Harris with one of the younger charismatic males as Veep to assuage some of those of the male persuasion who are still traumatized by the idea of a strong woman in the Oval Office. It’s time and we have a pretty good shot at it this time… :checkered_flag:.
