Discussion for article #228969
That “Domino Principle” late Sen. Barry Goldwater warned about in 1964? It’s true. Just not in the way conservatives thought.
Gay marriage-hating conservatives are feeling the walls close in on them as the walls of inequality are crumbling. I almost feel sorry for those with an anti-gay world view being torn from their safe haven of discrimination. How will they cope?
I’m hoping the increasingly deranged anti-gay bigots n the Christian right force the 2016 GOP presidential candidates to sign some ridiculous pledge against gay marriage. It would be a fitting coda to their era of bigotry if they help doom the eventual candidate.
Who is taking wagers on which state will be the last to extend human rights to gay folk?
Remember when NOM was endlessly bragging about their victorious efforts to demonize gay people?
It’ll be Nebraska.
Amazing, like dominos they fall. Ironically, my personal belief because of my faith belief opposes same sex marriage, but I abhor the State, through their ideological minions trying to take away civil rights from our citizens, allowing freedoms only to those whom they deem qualified. I choose my life’s actions, but dare not impose on others what theirs should be.
Maybe now Brewer’s gay hairstylist will stop frying her hair as revenge.
America Wins Again!!
Yeah, and for a nice dollop of irony, Goldwater (were he still alive) would have the World’s Biggest Smugface over this.
PHOENIX (AP) – Arizona’s conservative attorney general, Tom Horne, says he won’t challenge a federal court ruling that allows gay marriages to go forward in the state.
Horne’s announcement Friday comes hours after a District Court decision that strikes down a 1996 state law and a 2008 voter-approved constitutional amendment that outlawed gay marriage.
Yep…and I remember telling Maggie Gallagher that I pitted her. She really wasn’t happy about that.
It’s kind of amusing how the Republican leadership is mostly at the Testing stage now, having skipped right to there because they never really gave a shit anyway, while the crazies like Brian Brown and Mike Huckabee are still stuck between Shock and Denial.
The irony is that in most of the states now falling, you can now get married but still be fired from your job for being gay. So it’ll be a while yet.
…with liberty, and justice for all!
Is that the whole 9th circuit now?
Alaska in 7 minutes (that’s when the stay expires). Montana to go.
love it
In a one line decision, just issued by Justice Kennedy, the supreme Court has denied Alaska’s request for a stay.
