Discussion: Judge Prevents Release of Guantanamo Photographs

Discussion for article #227136

Like “violence against Americans” isn’t already desired?

Whether these images, those of torture, visual accounts of American aggression and war, graphic and bloody, along with the dead returning, withholding them denies Americans a real, cold look at what they are approving, so they cannot even ask a simple question: what is the crucial American interest in exchange for this? Because that case has not been made. Cannot now nor ever be made, IMHO, not when it was all begun and maintained through this writing with lie after goddamned lie, ad obscurum.

They should be released for American’s sake, not for any Them Terrists, Inc. ™.

Why does everybody think the videotapes of torture of the prisoners were destroyed? Even after a judge ordered them to be held. And even after they were destroyed was anybody held accountable? No of course not. Chimpy, Rummy, Condi and Darth would be sitting in the Hague if those got out.

Plus, the pictures are sort of embarrassing since he got that “MILEY” tattoo across his forehead.

So we can see videos of Americans being decapitated, but we can’t see videos of how we are treating ‘enemy combatants’. What’s wrong with this picture?
