He threatened a federal judge. What else is there to consider ?

Now you tell me.

ETA: As dog is my witness, I thought frappƩ meant something else entirely.

ā€œStone will have to explain why his release on bail ā€œshouldnā€™t not be modified or revoked,ā€

Well Roger, make the best of your time before the hearing. Plenty of space to do something dumb, inflammatory and self-destructive before blaming it on everyone else.

Is there a game here? Stone trying to provoke the judge to do something that will taint the proceedings?

Too sophisticated for Stone. Heā€™s just a dolt who simply canā€™t STFU when thatā€™s the smart thing to do.

I think Stone knows exactly what he is doing. He knows heā€™s guilty as shit, and thatā€™s going to be the outcome of his trial. His only recourse is to make a circus out of the proceedings.

Or their tongue in a light socket.

About the only thing I can think of is that heā€™s trying to feed Faux News red meat for his victimhood narrative in hopes it moves Trump to pardon him.

Fuck that guy!!! Throw the book at him, judge!!! :rage::rage::rage:

A lotta folks have mentioned that these pricks push the boundaries because theyā€™ve never had consequences for their actions. Iā€™m starting to really embrace that notion.

And then throw his ass in jail, I hope.

Throw him in jail.

I expect that as well. Sheā€™ll lock him down in a full gag order with strict orders that if he violates it with a single tweet, heā€™s off to prison.

Stone: thinking, thinking, aaaalways thinking!

Thereā€™s a lot hanging on that double negative as she assigns through it the burden of proof to the argument not to revoke. This ought to make Stone shudder.

Iā€™m guessing itā€™s a TPM typo in the quote.

I think so, and Iā€™d love to know who heā€™s taking advice from. Certainly not his lawyers.

Giving him more rope it looks like.

Revoking his bail wouldnā€™t taint the proceedings.

And no, thereā€™s no clever stratagem here. Stone is just reflexively turning to whatā€™s always worked for him in the past ā€“ aggressively blustering. Itā€™s Pavlovian.
