As usual, the problem isn’t that a holier-than-thou moralist couldn’t uphold the high moral standards he espoused, but that any of us should be expected to. As it turns out, people can cheat on their spouse and watch porn and America continues to survive just fine.
And that’s the reason these public puritans need to STFU, because they’re spouting nonsense. They want to convince you that we’re all doomed unless we do everything they say, but as it turns out, that’s entirely false. If there is a God, he’s not determining our nation’s fate based upon the actions of individual sinners. And that’s why it’s ok to gay sex and do all these other things that we’ve been doing for years, because it’s only the individuals who are affected and not society as a whole.

Beat me to it… always some other evil temptation that can be used here… it’s the conservative christian way… a little like getting absolution in this world by ‘praying jesus’ for forgiveness, where those godless heathens among us have to take responsibility for ourselves.

If he were sincere or truly afraid of eternal damnation, he would figure out how to give back all of the money he made professing virtues & family values he was unable to maintain. Or at least try. I will not hold breath, as prayers of forgiveness are just so much hot air.

I almost feel sorry for this guy. Growing up in a wacked religious environment warps people in so many ways. (Believe me, I know.) But I never for a moment thought about molesting my sisters, so any sympathy I might have is directed toward them, and toward his current wife. And I do hope they all escape the cult, even Josh.
