This also highlights (again) a serious problem with Twitter and the whole customized-information-universe thing that Twitter and Facebook have ushered in. If people running for public office (or in public office) are going to use Twitter as their outlet for public pronouncements, then blocking who gets to receive or respond to their messages, or editing or deleting messages at will, makes a mockery of the notion of public forums.
