Any polling place in town should direct you to the one you’re supposed to vote at.
I hear you and I am more than disappointed. What a schmuck
I agree (see my comment above). My only point was that the linked website did not work for me. He has no excuse for not voting. None.
That was an exceptionally weak excuse not to vote. How he can go on his show and rip on the GOP, then not vote is insane. I understand not voting today, but he could have voted early.
BTW, I didn’t vote today either- I did it Saturday.
He’s correct. Our country. in the next few years will change. HEY girlies out your right to birth control is about to but a memory.
There aren’t exactly any competitive races in Manhattan.
Really Jon Stewart? Perhaps rethinking that decision might be wise since you do a DAILY SHOW about politics that delves into the hypocrisy and slime of our so called democracy. Can’t find your polling thing? Sad, very sad indeed.
I didn’t know where my polling place was. I was tired that day. I’m fed up with politics. None of the candidates were appealing. I was busy. Blahblahblah.
(Yes, this election is getting to me.)
Me too. I’m all hopped up on left-over Halloween candy, anticipating a long frustrating night of political bullshit…No one showed up last Friday here trick-or-treating in the rain/snow mix and frigid mess, so I was left with tons of left-over junk food. So I’ve been eating, lord knows what. I’ve already overdosed on KitKats and Twizzlers and for some dumb reason I wanted comfort food earlier in the day, thinking I needed it as an added boost to combat the doldrums later on. So I ordered a fucking pizza. Mix that with too much coffee and I’m a walking, talking loose cannon full of derptitude. I think I’m crashing from waaaay too many triglycerides. Tonight feels like I’m having a tooth pulled without anesthesia. Let’s just get this thing over with already…The suspense is killing me.
But the one thing I did do right today…I fucking voted.
Whoa! Such animosity. Other than adding to Andrew Cuomo’s and Charles Schumer’s final vote total, what “critical” race is Jon Stewart abandoning today? I believe Carolyn Maloney is his Representative – she’s not up for re-election.
I admit he’s setting a bad example, if, indeed, this is a genuine response. It may just as likely be a gag, Stewart’s way of avoiding having to answer, “Who did you vote for?”
But the alacrity with which people turn on Stewart, who has done more for pointing out Republican hypocrisy than 99% of the population, is stunning. Stunning and alarming. Stunning and alarming and disappointing.
I’m right there with ya.
Feel your frustration SR. This country is all f**ked up and sh*t! I gonna try my best to avoid the tv coverage and just watch a Chgo Bulls game tonight and check the interwebs in the morning for the outcome.
Oh, and slowly step away from the candy, dear.
Not to beat a dead horse on this, but Stewart should be ashamed of himself.
My better half will drag me away from my computer–in one past election she threatened to turn off the power. Yeah, she can be ruthless.
And you had to go public with that tidbit, John --why? Abstained means a conscious decision not to vote, not I don’t know my polling place! Yes, it is more ideological than careless!
I like Jon, but he can be excessively preachy and then pulls this “I can’t be bothered” ambivalence? Pretty obnoxiously detached. Maybe Bill O will school him on his civic duty next time he offers him some air time.
Surprisingly lame ass. I moved in August the year I moved, and the MINUTE I knew my new address, I reregistered. It took five minutes, of course. If the deadline has already passed, go vote at your old polling place. Idiot.
Schumer wasn’t running. Stewart could have voted for someone else for governor, or just not vote for that office; I’m sure many thousands of NY Democrats did. All Representatives are up for re-election every two years.
Not funny Mr Stewart, wonder how many will stop watching your show, with this uncalled for informercial ?
issued a full-throated injunction to his fans to vote
Actually he did the exact opposite of an injunction. Do the writers at TPM even know the English-language?
