Discussion: John Dean: ‘Nixon=Corrupt; Trump=Evil’

I’ve shouted “You dick, it’s time to go,” at my TV set.

There was a lot of this in Watergate, as well. What strikes me as different is tthe hat the R’s have a specific “Trumpite” faction within the party that identifies with him personally, The Nixon republicans, as I recall, weren’t that identified with him as a cult of personality. They were just riding the corruption express into power.

Yeah he didn’t have that much personality. It wasn’t personal to him ever. It’s all personal with Trump.

You can say that again, well TPM anyway.

Trump might claw his way UP to 43% approval but he can not sustain even that pathetic uptick. The Republican party will be facing rump party status soon.

I love it when he is compared to the last most corrupt President because it is always to Republican Richard Nixon. Now we have corrupt Nixon vs Evil Trump.

I did the same here in Colorado. Appointed by an “R” - voted OTD!

I did that in Texas. I have a pretty good friend who was running to keep her bench but she runs as R and I voted for the D who is running against her.

I will not vote for anyone without a D next to their name for any office.

“Republican” and “backbone” are antithetical.
Republican == neofascist (==> asshole, moron, etc.). This situation will not change.

What is Rudy Guiliani!

Frankly I don’t give a crap about how history treats Trump. I am more concerned with how the criminal justice system treats him and his revolting offspring.

Sadly, given the attention span of the public and the weakness of our media, that will last about an election cycle or two.
