Discussion for article #226204

Joe should type up a memo to the head of NBC news and Mrs. Greenspan.

I think a game is a foot here. Ingrham’s comments raised my curiosity, but now Scarborough is getting on that band wagon, too.

And I think its bigger than just neocons wanting to get behind any and all military adventurism regardless of the party in the White House.

I think they want to use the Iraqi situation as a wedge issue against Democrats (which would go even further to explain Hilary’s comments in The Atlantic interview).

The problem though, is their base is still largely against any more troops in Iraq, as is the country by a large margin. And trying to sell their base on a war Obama is supporting that they don’t want…well, it seems a task on par with Sisyphus rolling the stone to the top of the mountain.
I’m so sick and tired of the same people bitching and moaning.
Should have just left it right there.

Doesn’t matter what the issue is, Republicants only bitch and moan. Nothing to offer other than criticism of others. nothing helpful, no new ideas other than “Screw Obama” - even when the subject is EXACTLY what they have asked for.

It’s like they hate America. If American is SOOO BAD, GTFO!

Congresswoman Barbara Lee D-CA (Oakland), a dove on matters of war, said this a few days ago:

Congresswoman Lee’s Statement on U.S. Airstrikes in Iraq
Washington, DC - Congresswoman Lee issued this statement upon receiving news of U.S. airstrikes in Iraq:

“I support strictly humanitarian efforts to prevent genocide in Iraq.

While the President has existing authority to protect American diplomatic personnel, I remain concerned about U.S. mission creep in Iraq and escalation into a larger conflict, which I oppose.

There is no military solution in Iraq. Any lasting solution must be political and respect the rights of all Iraqis.

I am pleased President Obama recognized this in his statement last night, when he said: ‘there’s no American military solution to the larger crisis in Iraq. The only lasting solution is reconciliation among Iraqi communities and stronger Iraqi security forces.’

I will continue to call for the President to seek congressional authorization before any combat operations. For too long, Congress has abdicated its Constitutional role in matters of war and peace. The President should come to Congress for authorization of any further military action in Iraq.”

I get that this is a post about Morning Jo[k]e, but it’s also another example of an article or post about Iraq that doesn’t take at minimum, a single fcking sentence, to point out the ‘original hubris sin’ of this enduring clusterfck aka the “dumb war”…LEST we forget. Jeez…

Hey…they manage to mix in some bigotry, misogyny, homophobia and xenophobia. Lets not give in to unprepossessing exaggerations.

The MorningJoke is trying to get ratings - we’ve left him in the dust - nobody wants to listen to MSNBC bash the President 3 hours in the morning - for bullshit they caused! It is all Repig Potus Bashing all the time on MSNBC during the day.

I think this Joe’s way of lobbying for the MTP job.

The strong arm murdering dictator works every time colonial powers cobble together by force a nation made of different tribal/religious groups. Removing Sadam gave U.S. hawks a reason to be in Iraq ad infinitum.

Better watch out, Joe – much more of that, and Sarah Palin’s gonna jump on your butt.

Events outpacing GOP thought?!?!?!?!

well that may be a good thing //headline news

sarah palin found dead in an MSNBC office of joe scarborough…more on MSNBC after this break

GOP is shifting toward the center due to the upcoming Nov. elections.

“That’s more praise than what was offered Sunday by Sen. John McCain (R-AZ), who argued the United States never should have withdrawn from Iraq in the first place.”

Too bad we didn’t have an election to make that decision. McCain could have argued for the permanent presence in Iraq (like what we have in Germany), and Obama could have called for withdrawal.

Oh wait, we did have an election with these gentlemen.

From Maddowblog:

"Dan Senor

Then: As the chief spinmeister for the CPA, Senor, a former GOP congressional staffer, used frequent televised briefings to project an optimism that he knew was at odds with the reality of a war-torn Iraq. Asked by reporters about an episode of violence in 2004, Senor replied, “Off the record, Paris is burning. On the record: Security and stability are returning to Iraq.”

Since: Last year, Senor served as a key adviser to Mitt Romney. Had Romney won, Senor was likely to get a top White House policy job. In 2010, he became immersed in the controversy surrounding a Muslim center in downtown New York, advocating for its relocation away from the Ground Zero site. Senor was urged to run as a Republican for a U.S. Senate seat from New York but ultimately decided against it. Instead, he founded a new neoconservative advocacy group with Kristol and others."

That Mrs. Greenspan is some piece of work. Her spouse is an admirer of Ayn Rand and said so on 60 Minutes few years back.
Shows where his head is at and most likely hers too.
Two jerks.
