Glaciers move faster than the DNC lately, but Iām glad theyāre hopefully moving to a consensus candidate for DNC Chair, so we can focus on taking back the Gold House and our country.
I donāt know anything about this man. Anyone care to enlighten me? Why is he better than Rep Keith Ellison? that sort of thing.
Some background on both:
much obliged.
Listen to Joshās podcast Episode 12 with Tom Perez.
If Obama and Biden both support Tom Perez then the Democratic Party is dead and buried if he is selected.
Obama and Biden were the oneās who fired Howard Dean and hired Tom Kaine and then Debbie Wasserman-Schulz, and we have been losing badly ever since. Perez would just be next in the succession of DNC losers.
"And here comes the compromise candidate "
- that hard left citizens army better be the greatest thing ever.
Ellison better be the greatest thing since sliced bread.
Thank you, Mr. Vice-President.
Just pick one already! 2018 could be a great year for us in the HoR but it will be a disaster in the Senate if we donāt get moving.
YOU would think by now the democrats had wised up and realized the loss of a 1000 elections(candidates) have proved the old guard just isnt the way to go anymore.
throw in the tired leaders in the house and senate and you better get used to 8 years of COMPLETE republican control.
Ellison is the guy that excites the younger dem voter and while no one is perfect he brings the energy the inclusiveness and the ability to attract the diversity the party will now need moving forward better than any other candidateā¦from everything i have read.
And if he turns off the rest of the dem voters, what then?
The āyoung dem voterā has repeatedly been the most fickle, most unreliable bloc in the party. Continuing to extend a hand to someone who slaps it away in the name of āpurityā is akin to thinking that Lucy really is going to hold that football for Charlie Brown, THIS timeā¦
does Ellison have to be all that just to be better then Perez?
lets face factsā¦considering the state of the party the last 8 years (the losses specifically) why would continued support of/by the status quo candidates inspire anyone?
āJust pick one already!ā
That will happen in a few weeks. The DNC will meet in Atlanta the weekend of Feb 25. We wonāt know who the new Chair will be until then. No one is likely to have a majority of the first ballot, but it will shake out over the course of the meeting and thatās when weāll have anew Chair.
Please look at the demographics. The mellenials voted in a much higher percentage for Hillary over Trump than their parents did. Much higher.
You mean the few ones that bothered to show up.
Tom Perez has spent his career working for working people. Heās the kind of person to bring the Democratic Partyās natural constituents back.
Plus itās just kinda weird to call Perez āold guardā when heās barely older than Keith Ellison. I donāt doubt either will be good in the position.
I just am a little incredulous that, since HRC lost by the skin of her teeth in the most crooked election in modern times, after winning the popular vote by 3 million, that we should now turn around and put the party in the control of the people who couldnāt even beat HRC in the primaries.
