Lincoln Chaffee, fooled ya! Jim Webb is out if he says he’ll run as an Independent, heck, even the only real Independent in the group is at least smart enough to use DNC dollars to help fund his campaign. Webb’s hit peak grumpiness and he’s doing himself no favors by comparing himself to the front-runner(s) in the campaign.

If he actually had been campaigning while he was running as a Democrat, had actually performed half-way decently during the first debate, or didn’t come off as constipated and entitled, I might be concerned. Maybe.

Despite the fact an independent run doesn’t require being nominated, I think he might struggle to win the nomination.

Isn’t there quite a bit of work to do to get on the ballot as an independent? In all 50 states?

Work that involves lawyers, petitions, signatures, etc?

Again: Too many folks have been fooled into thinking that because Obama did it, they can, too.

And these are folks are on both sides of the political aisle.

He is angling for an invitation from the Sunday talk shows. And I think they will give it to him simply because it is another way for them to indirectly attack Clinton.

You have to have a lot of money to pay people to get signatures for you to even get on the ballot of most states. You don’t just magically get on the ballot.

And what really burns me about Webb was that in 2008 Obama campaigned with Webb which brought out African-American voters for Webb versus George “Maccaca” Allen in a close win. I stood about 10 feet from Obama and Webb at a rally as they praised each other. Last year Webb attacked Obama on healthcare and foreign policy. I never liked the guy as a DINO and am truly disgusted at him now.
