Discussion: Jeb: Fed Government Doesn't Need To Oversee Most States' Voting Laws

Did this assgasket somehow skip American History and civics class?

That someone who is from the State of Florida (of all places) to say the Federal Government has no oversight role in voting (given the need for Bush v. Gore to install his brother as POTUS) is astounding.

JEBā€™s campaign is running into serious fund raising problems, however. Yes, he has a huge war chest, but its not being replenished right now, as donors are starting to freeze him out. National endorsements, particularly this early in a game with such a crowded field, are not particularly meaningfulā€¦they can be and will be withdrawn as situations change.

Every round of polling I see gets worse and worse for JEB, and Rubio is slowly but steadily moving up on him.

There is of course, a lot more shuffling still to go on, we are just now hitting the actual money spending part of the campaigns. Trump seems to have plateued, Carson seems hell bent on self destruction, and Fiorina is a very wounded fish being surrounded by sharks, she just doesnā€™t realize it yet. So lots of changes to still come before the end of the year, let alone before Feb 1.

But if I were a betting man, I wouldnā€™t be putting my money on Bush.

ā€¦And denial of voting rights to people of color is just stuff that happens. If you could do something about it, it would not be happening stuff.

This what a legacy candidate looks like. The whole bush crime family has gotten ahead through legacies.

Donā€™t know so much about the ā€œgasketā€ part ā€” They tend to keep things from leaking ā€”

Prediction markets, well, letā€™s just call it gambling, has Rube within striking distance of Jeb! but he still lags in endorsements and in polls.

For crying out loudā€¦stuff happensā€¦I think the Redskins name is just fineā€¦Katherine Harris is a great Americanā€¦he kept us safeā€¦

Imagine if Herbert Hoover had a brother who tried to run for president based on Herbertā€™s disastrous record? He would have been picketed by the unemployed at every stop. So why is not the brother of George Herbert Hoover Bush treated the same way? 10% unemployment then, 5% now.

If itā€™s to re-authorize it to continue to provide regulations on top of states as though we are living in 1960 ā€” because those were basically when many of those rules were put in place ā€” I donā€™t believe that we should do that

Jeb!, Alabama isnā€™t living in the 1960ā€™s itā€™s moving back toward the 1860ā€™s. I understand your fear of African American votes, but you donā€™t need to fear us, because you know weā€™re voting against you. Plenty of us remember how you hid out in your office during the Affirmative Action debate in Florida. You were scheduled to speak, but decided that you didnā€™t want to face criticism over your proposed policy. That was a fine example of leadership and courage Jeb!

Itā€™s perfectly fine for Those People to vote. Itā€™s this business of their votes actually mattering to the outcome that cannot be tolerated.

The presidential candidate and the vice presidential candidate canā€™t be from the same state.
