Discussion: JCT Report: Trump's Newly Signed Tax Overhaul Law Won't Pay For Itself

This qualifies as news, how?

It wasn’t meant to, despite what they say.

They have SS, Medicaid, Medicare and other programs to kill because we can’t afford them now.

Because tax cuts.

So, Congress is going to re-convene and fix things now that they have actual, non-partisan facts to work with, right?

OH NO! Now we’ll have no choice but to slash Medicaid and Medicare and Social Security and SSDI and every other federal program that actually helps people’s daily lives! Gosh! It’s not at all like this was the plan from the beginning! Surely, noooo!

AT&T will make up the shortfall by mailing everyone in the country a check for $1000.

See what Ms @teenlaqueefa had to say above you.

They have to cut Social Security, Medicaid, Medicare, Women, Infants and Children (WIC) nutrition programs, and (to paraphrase Cher) the list goes on.

Because tax cuts. Because HRC made them do it.

Which will bring the average AT&T cable bill down to $4,000 per year…

This shouldn’t be a surprise, it’s the entire intent of the bill to give money to the wealthy at the expense of the rest of us. It also shouldn’t be a surprise that Republicans who beat the drums over deficits through Obama’s term did their master’s bidding in turning out the Treasury for them. The only surprise here is that they continue to survive being such hypocrites…not that they are, but that they are able to fool enough people into voting for them. The Republicans truly don’t care about the nation anymore, they have been captured by the self-interested wealthy and extremists and are just trying to twist America into something it has never been.

Telethon? Bake sale? How about we try to sell pizzias to other countries, no? Then what about gift wrap? Or we could try to raise money by putting on a show, we could call Republican Follies 2018. I wonder who we could get to be out star?

“The committee said that the bill is not close to being deficit-neutral, despite the Trump administration’s and Republican leadership’s claims.”

Clearly, the committee neglected to account for year-over-year aggregate fiscal-stimulus amortization drivers.

And the magic pony who farts golden-sparkle rainbows.

I LOVE those rainbows! They’re my favorite!

Does this presume the cuts to Medicare and other programs the Republican leadership used to justify reconciliation?

Not just pay for themselves, pay off the national debt.

Because they’re admitting it. Remember who this is:

Senate members
Rs:
Orrin G. Hatch, Utah, Vice-Chairman
Chuck Grassley, Iowa
Mike Crapo, Idaho

Ds:
Ron Wyden, Oregon
Debbie Stabenow, Michigan

House members
Rs:
Kevin Brady, Texas, Chairman
Sam Johnson, Texas
Devin Nunes, California

Ds:
Richard Neal, Massachusetts
John Lewis, Georgia

So Chuck Grassley, Orrin Hatch, and Devin Nunes are admitting their President is full of shit, not a day after making speeches praising him.

Dear Media;

Say that to him. Point out this report. Point out that it doesn’t get out of the Committee w/out them signing off on it. Ask him how he feels about them—and name them, specifically—calling him a liar.

Then we can toast marshmallows while he burns the GOP down some more.

I seriously want to ask Republicans if I should even pay my taxes anymore. According to them, the government is “stealing my money” and deficits don’t matter anyway. I’m sure Paul Ryan would file an amicus brief on my behalf if the IRS came after me, no? Isn’t that the logical extension of their arguments for drowning the government?

I love that idea. How about selling 1.07 trillion pizzas to all these countries (including Italy) who were so mean to the President at the United Nations? Surely they owe Trump a yuuuuge apology, so buying all this pizza would be a good starting point.
