She has been a resident of New York State her entire life. She’s whining about the rules because her laziness and political apathy was exposed.
You would think that when you daddy is running for President you would learn the rules early for your state. However given who their father is call me unsurprised.
“New York has one of the most onerous rules in terms of registration, and it required us to register a long time ago, almost — close to a year ago.”
Anyone know if this is true???
Shallow gene pool…
It reveals a couple of things: 1) Ivanka isn’t a Republican, she is an independent, and as such she is not entitled to vote in a closed Republican primary. she is right, the rules are hard to follow. 2) Even if she knew a year ago that Trump would run for President she (and everyone else) probably didn’t expect him to last this long.
Onerous?
Maybe for someone whose life is pretty pampered. She has an assistant and nannies and a housekeeper, and probably a driver. Onerous. LOL
Talk to a single mom with a couple of kids in NY who is juggling a couple of low paying jobs about onerous.
I think by onerous she means she had to go online a change her party affiliation by a date certain that she forgot just because… http://gothamist.com/2015/10/06/democracy_bureacracy.php
I am guessing here idea of onerous is going online.
"Again: if you aren’t affiliated with a party, or want to change parties for the upcoming presidential primary, you have to do it before Friday. It is likely too late to register online through the DMV (its website says to “allow six weeks” to hear back from the Board of Elections), so late-changing voters need to register by mail or in person at a Board of Elections office near them. The relevant form is this PDF. Update: The NYC Campaign Finance Board tells us, “Registrations filed through the DMV voter registration portal will take effect like any other if filed before the deadline. The sentence on the DMV website refers to how long it takes the BOE to send notice/confirmation of your registration - it is the same six weeks whether you file online or with a paper form.” The Gothamist
And yet millions of other New Yorkers, presumably without resources & staff, manage to register by March 31.
They whine so much you get bored with whining.
Trump: There ought to be a federal law that allows same day registration.
GOP(banging their head against the wall): No. … No. We need to discourage voters… go for Suppression.
“She explained during a CNN town hall with her father, Donald Trump, that her experience inspired her to create videos explaining to voters in other states how to register in time for the 2016 election”
That should go over big with her fellow republicans.
Any rule this cipher has to follow is “onerous.”
i.e. rules don’t apply to me.
Awwww, poor thing, you mean it shouldn’t be so hard to register and vote? Cry me a river.
and besides that she added , normally when there’s an election daddy just buys me a politician . I pick one and that’s it
Onerous= wealthy people being ever so slightly inconvenienced by having to remember to tell their assistant to do something for them.
good thing the beeatch doesn’t live in Texas or one of the States with real “onerous laws”
Yep, I read in one of her interviews that she’s voted for different people before but as an Independent. Rump’s running in a closed Rethug primary locks her out. Whether it was an assistant or one of her many lawyers, she should have had the foresight to tell someone to get on the horn and figure out if she could vote for her father. Back last year when he announced.
That is, IF she was taking this seriously at all.
EDIT TO ADD: Went onto Google and didn’t see the “videos” she’s made on explaining to the peons how voting works. Maybe it was a PSA, maybe she’s still working on it…
Oh yes. So onerous to look at a calendar.
