Discussion: Ivanka Trump Is Our Duke Of The Week

It’s plainly egregious in a president but given how badly he fucks everything up the least he can do is the best thing for the country in my view.

No kidding. He does enough damage in the two hours per week he works.

“I’m going to be working for you. I’m not going to have time to go play golf,” Trump said at a rally in August 2016. That was true for about two weeks.

@littlegirlblue - I can’t believe he went a whole 38 days between golf games there.

When most people get a new job, there are guidelines for how many hours per week they are to work. When you become POTUS shouldn’t that be the case? He knows no one can do anything about it so he’s going to abuse the office as much as possible.
You know that probably most of our presidents worked at least 60 hours per week, this one who knows.
And, I’m in agreement that the less he is actually “working” the better off we are as a country.

Well, he enables a great deal of harm.

Those are Reagan hours. The rest of them worked long days much of the time and weekends - Clinton and Obama are two examples of presidents who took it seriously and worked like they did.

W wasn’t terribly work happy either. The Repugs are lazy.

The golf count site says 152 golf days @ a cost of $82,000,000 to taxpayers. Pretty extraordinary, this amount and getting paid to wreck/do nothing for the country.

That makes me furious really. These so-called billionaires are costing us a goddamn fortune.

Come income tax filing time he’ll likely donate his $400,000. salary to charity and take whatever allowable deduction there is. A truly rich guy would have taken no salary. Bloomberg took $1. a year as mayor and basically paid out of pocket the costs associated with mayor including travel, lodging, and used his own money to fund his mayoral campaigns.

Bloomberg is toying with the idea of running in 2020 as a Democrat, and he’ll be worth looking at.

Makes me wish twitter was NEVER invented. Bet that counts as time put into the job.

Since the courts so far have taken the tweets as presidential declarations, then yeah probably.

He had the right to remain silent, but no. He emptied the contents of his head for all to see.

He’s a compulsive teller of tales.

You know rather than “donating his salary” I would love it if he had decided to absorb the cost to him of his golf outings at his own goddamn courses.

And, we all know there is not way he will do this. If how much he’s abused his position came into the light he might say he was intending to pay it back, but you know he never will. Too bad this isn’t front page headlines day after day.

Nope. They are going to wring every last dime they can out of us.

has visited a property he owns on 31.1% of the 673 days of his presidency.

He doesn’t go alone, always has a big party with him including the occasional celeb golfer like Nicklaus, so wouldn’t this be a further emoluments clause violation.
