Israel has 200 nuclear weapons and 100 IRBMs capable of delivering them with pinpoint accuracy. Moreover, Israel threatens to bomb Iran every single day. Yet Israel wants the world to believe that Iran, which has no nuclear weapons, is an existential threat to Israel and wants the United States to do the fighting. It is high time Americans told Israel that buying the US Congress no longer works, so get lost. .

I favor the Iran deal, but I think you miss the point. One small nuclear weapon on one missile that gets through Iron Dome destroys Israel, taking with it just about all the remaining Jews in the world, outside the U.S. No amount of Israeli retaliatory capability will be able to bring those lives back. That one weapon getting through finishes Hitler’s program. And for Israelis to be concerned about this is hardly irrational, especially when the Iranian government regularly advocates the destruction of Israel. I think the Iranian deal will survive a veto override in the House. But the one sure way of assuring an override is for advocates of the deal to demean Israel and to discount the legitimacy of its concerns, or to use language that is easily interpreted as being anti-semtic at its core, if not in its explicit verbiage.

Israel covers over 20,000 sq/km, while the way the fallout is distributed is an issue a single small nuke isn’t going to vaporize the entire country.

That’s a very intelligent, well thought out comment, surely designed to convince others of the correctness of your views. Congrats. Of course, to the contrary, your comment proves my point. You might try actually reading original source documents. In this case, they aren’t hard to find. It’s Shin Bet Report 9342, dated October 22, 2012, which says that Iran had made enough progress by 2012 to make a nuclear bomb at any time the leadership wanted one.
To critisize Israel Is not anti semetic…
To use colorful language or point out that Israel is every bit as hostile in its language as Iran doesn’t come close to anti semetic language and is only purposefully misconstrued this way for political purpose.
Bibi is like the southern white racist, any loss of preferred status and privilege is akin to oppression.
I hope the security council vote really chaps his Ass. Maybe he can go hug one of Israel’s many nukes and get that warm, fuzzy secure feeling, or perhaps bombing a village of Palestinians will get him back in a good mood.

Thanks. That’s very comforting to know that a small device (as you define it, no doubt) wouldn’t vaporize the entire country. Maybe it would only vaporize from Hailfa through Tel Aviv and Jerusalem down to Ashkelon. I’m really comforted by that. I guess it would take Iran deciding to deliver a medium size device to vaporize the entire country.

Going by this chart a 20 mt nuke wouldn’t even vaporize half the country. To provide a sense of how large of a nuke that is the most powerful nuclear weapon the US has developed was in the 25 mt range.
Engaging in gross exaggeration for emotional effect doesn’t help your argument.

Maybe if Israel would wise up and not keep re-electing that old war whore bibi, then start respecting it’s neighbors, like they want their neighbors to respect them, peace just might take hold in the region.

Netanyahu was asked if he will lobby Congress? That’s like asking a fish if it plans to swim in water.
This guy has never seen a war that expends American lives that he hasn’t been completely in love with. How many Israeli soldiers are helping against ISIS, who is the bigger threat and knocking at their back door.
He should stay out of American politics and the United States should leave Israel to self-destruct on its own.

It’s not the lobbying that bothers me… It’s the Reps and Senators that don’t tell Dermer that they prefer to look out for US interests first. Or better yet give them the same treatment we gave South Africa during Apartied (well later years of it anyway)
