I have to say, I’m with Occam on this one - no, we don’t have to praise her courage for standing up and saying what it blindingly true to pretty much everyone. But we also don’t have to mock her for saying something that, despite it’s blindingly true nature, the majority of her party denies.

One of the distinguishing characteristics of sociopaths is the inability to empathize with others. The answer to your question is “yes.”

Opportunistic or not, it is entirely believable that more happened to her, but she still is not ABLE to tell the whole story.

Sexual assault allegations, if they are unrestricted, are already investigated by agencies outside of the Chain of Command. Those agencies are either CID(Army), OSI(Air Force) or NCIS(Navy/Marine Corps).

Currently, at least in the Marine Corps, if you have any allegation of sexual assault, sexual harassment, hazing etc… you are directed to notify the Commandant of the Marine Corps via the 1st General Officer in your Chain of Command within 6 hours of the allegation.

Of course not all sexual assault allegations are prosecuted and they are not prosecuted because 80% are determined by these independent investigators not to be substantiated or they don’t rise to the level of criminal prosecution.

The majority of cases, not those that include rape, are dealt with administratively since the burden of proof is far less than it would be if the individual faced Court Martial.

For me this is just an attempt, a smart-one, to win over independent minded women voters. Because she knows if women split their vote, she wins easily.

Once again, conservatives show sympathy, provided they experienced something themselves. Outside that little circle, blame the victim.
