This identical story is on Yahoo.

Anyway, the funds are becoming available in 2017 and it’s very coincidental that Oklahoma has bankrupted itself for the typical ‘conservative’ reasons, read; benefit their benefactors, but now they’ll let Big Brother bail them out and play stupid.
I’m saying that this has been the plan al along.

Well guess what Oklahoma, everyone knows and this bail out has been cooked into the system since inception. BILLIONS of tax dollars are what the Okies are pretending not to want but desperately need. Plus, they are going to add taxes to luxury items like cigarettes which is sort of double taxation but it might benefit people’s health-at least there is a little logic in that one.

Obamacare is medical care is affordable health acre and is sensible legislation with a multitude of room for improvement.

Republican financial inefficiencies can last a lot longer at the federal level, where there aren’t laws requiring balanced budgets. At the state level, you eventually have to stop waiting for the Tax Cut Revenue Fairy to arrive with her magic wand.

“The opponents have called for covering health costs by cutting spending for less essential programs.”

Also known as… fsck the poor. I can’t imagine less essential programs than tax cuts and corporate subsidies.

“We are nearing a colossal collapse of our health care system in Oklahoma,” warned Craig Jones, the president of the Oklahoma Hospital Association, which represents more than 135 hospitals and health care systems in the state. “We have doctors turning away patients. We have people with mental illnesses who are going without treatment. Hospitals are closing, and this is only going to get worse this summer if the Legislature does not act immediately to turn this around.”

Wait a minute - I’m confused. How come the private sector didn’t kick in the money? How come the hospitals weren’t privitized? Isn’t that the Rethug idea of success?

How many have died waiting for this lunatic state to change? The governor should be prosecuted.

Fine, Oklahoma, don’t expand Medicare/Obamacare. Sink into the mud with your poor, elderly, and helpless citizenry all voting GOP to the very end as they die off painfully. The rest of us really don’t give a shit anymore. You’ve made it so easy!

“the proposal is based on an Indiana program that received federal approval.”

See. It is NOT Obamacare. We made the horrible Feds back down. We won. (Now, where’s the money?)

Are you kidding she is on Trump’s short list for VP candidates.

Still waiting for an admission that unfettered free market capitalism isn’t the panacea these two Koch fools keep pretending it is. Need proof? Look up one state at Kansas, see how well they’re doing.

OK staring into the KS abyss…

Sleeping with the enemy? (wry grin)

This is some serious Schadenfreude to say the least. To see right-wing GOPers in Oklahoma of all places desperate to use Obamacare to help shore up their budget holes is pretty funny. Particularly after spending the better part of a decade screaming that this was an unconstitutional neutron bomb for the economy and would destroy their budgets. Now it is their hope to save them from their own fiscal mess they have created for themselves.

See, the states really are the public policy ‘laboratory’ our Founders wished. In this case, we had two opposing concepts of healthcare, one where the government plays a bigger role in regulating the markets so states can stay healthy and provide care to more citizens; the other where they keep doing what they were doing and fall into a chasm of expense, debt and deconstructed society. Good to see how the experiment turned out.

Now that they can no longer claim they were standing on principle, what happens when the rubes find out that they left billions sitting on the table for years? I sure hope the Dems are smart enough to make hay out of this.
