Discussion: In Renewed Attempt, Bipartisan Group Of Senators Push Mueller Protection Bill

Hmmm, some Republicans are trying to get on the right side of this issue. Does that mean we are close to the end? Et tu , Lindsey?

Don’t worry, Lindsey’ll cave after the next golf game.

Nope, afraid not. This is Lindsey’s CYA (and also an attempt to defang the more robust House bill).

So this is easy. We give trump his 5.6 Billion in return for making by law Mueller and independent prosecutor protected by law, with the caveat that the funds can’t be used for physical wall until Mueller clears the Trump administration of any wrong doing in the 2016 election.

Number 1, the timing is suspicious.
Number 2, I’ll believe it when I see it.
Number 3, that shit ain’t coming up for a vote by Senator McTurtle if the reptilian numbnut won’t even allow a vote to end the government shutdown.

Nice try though.

So is vetoing this bill automatically an act of obstruction, or only if he subsequently commits obstruction by trying to fire Mueller?

(Albeit yeah, it will likely never reach the floor.)

Both Graham and North Carolina Sen. Thom Tillis, the bill’s other Republican sponsor, have said they don’t think Trump will move to have Mueller fired.

Graham and Tillis further expressed strong support in their belief in The Tooth Fairy, and castigated the Liberal Media for poisoning our young childrens’ minds while depriving them of innocent joy.

maybe I’m just paranoid and impatient, but the news out of Mueller’s team has been pretty quiet since Whitaker took over.

If Turtle ever allows this bill to go up for a vote, then I’ll know something is up.

“Graham is a friend and ally of the President’s…” and a sworn enemy of the Republic to boot.

And general douchebag. And a Colonel in the South Carolina National Guard. Which has allowed him to feign military and national security expertise for way too long.

Almost like they know Dotard is gonna lash out after tonight’s nationally televised train wreck…

And by the time it gets to the floor, if McConnell even brings it to the floor, then enough Repubs will have backed off that support to let it fail. Of course during their campaigns they will only mention the initial support if it comes up…
