Discussion: In Move To Become One-Stop Shop, CVS Bids $69 Billion For Aetna Insurance

I know it’s Monday morning, but, c’mon, guys, you’ve posted the story twice here. Where’s that new hire for editorial duties? Or are lowly copy editors still cooling their heels in the TPM waiting room?

Yrs truly,

Cranky old fart

The companies announced Sunday that CVS Health Corp. will pay about $207 in cash and stock for each share of Aetna Inc., a 29 percent premium over Aetna’s stock price before the first report about a possible deal in October.

Second time it was in the news. Deal announced in October. Price now being proposed. Just following up. That’s how big stories work.

@spiderpig My complaint, trivial as it may be, was with the two copies of the story under the one headline. And, yes, I know the deal had been announced earlier, and that one more instance of massive consolidation is a story worth following.

That’s almost certainly the text the AP sent out. Would have taken a few extra minutes to read through and notice.
