Discussion: In Georgia race, Republicans battle as Democrat chases upset

But Osoff looks like Osama Bin Laden without a beard because he got paid money by Al Jazerra for doing stuff; and when he was a college freshmen, he dressed up as Chewbacca’s rent boy at a costume party. Think of the children!!!

Asked about his allegiance to Trump

“Allegiance?” Seriously? Is this really what we’ve come to?

I pledge allegiance to the Trump of the United States of Trump,
And to the republic for which Trump stands,
One nation under Trump, indivisible,
With liberty and justice for Trump.

Good thing Ossof’s first name isn’t Jack…

Trump’s national diversity coalition…

Ya mean they pandered to Norwegians and Swedes?

I live in GA-06, and have been impressed by the amount of phone calls (multiple everyday), flyers, and even a handwritten postcard targeting and encouraging my vote for Ossoff (I’ve voted already, BTW). He does need to win it outright at this Apr 18th vote. Because while I truly hope pulls it off, as it will be a HUGE pickup in Georgia… it if gets to 1:1 with a Republican, I’m worried we’ll have that same dynamic where the Democrat had strong early polling, (Jason Carter - Gov, Michelle Nunn - Senate) but then we get reminded why this state is Red.

Well, a great big FUCK YOU to Karen Handel! Like a zombie, she just won’t die. If you’ll recall, this so-called woman nearly single-handedly brought down the Susan G. Koman Foundation with her hatred of Planned Parenthood and desire to remove them from “her” funds recipient list when she headed the foundation. She was more than ready to end breast cancer screening services done by PP because they also * gasp! * offer unwed women family planning services up to and including pregnancy terminations.

I never wore a pink ribbon again, participated in boycotting orgs and products that supported the SGK foundation and became a recurring donor to Planned Parenthood because of Handel.

So, once again, FUCK YOU KAREN HANDEL!

…a “rubber stamp” for House Democratic leader Nancy Pelosi…

Which is not at all like being a “rubber stamp” for the GOP, Trump and the Koch brothers. Glad you explained that to me.

Does Ossoff have to win more than 50% of the vote in April 18th to win this seat outright? If not, what is the percent? Because that’s a huge hurdle when there are 18 people in the race…

It’s still Dixie.

I believe he has to get a simple majority of the vote to win, i.e. 50% + 1 vote. Most polls have had him at around 40%, the most recent one (April 2) was 43%, followed by Handel in second place at 15%.

What has the volume of early voting been like?

Early voting was brisk today where some polling places had an hour + wait to vote. There were also additional voting locations that came online in Dekalb and Cobb (most of the early voting has been in Fulton).

As a Georgian out of step with most of my friends and family I say the possible election of a Democrat for Tom Price’s seat is poetic justice, so please to my fellow Georgians rise to the occasion ( I wish I could vote but it is not my district).

Ossoff has staying power. His vote share won’t go down, and it might go up. GOP is just trying to keep him under 50%. Per the last SUSA poll, there were 2-3 Democratic candidates pulling about 3%-4% (Berners? Greenies?) That percentage, if it shifts to Ossoff, could get him over the hump. I do know from Twitter that some Bernie Bros are anti-Ossoff because they hate John Lewis (blame him for killing Bernie’s chances in the South) and Ossoff has Lewis’ support. But rather than focus on useless Berners, the more important trend is the high number of low propensity voters who are voting early. In addition, the minority vote is starting to creep up as part of the EV. There were about 215k or so people who voted in 2014 in that district. I suspect in the 1st round that number is probably closer to 140k. Ossoff has to look to get 110k votes, and in Round 1, he might be ok trying to hit 75k.

I love how the GOPers fight over who is the most dedicated to Dumblefuck, but none of them talk about how they’re dedicated to the 6th District.

Yet Ossoff talks about being dedicated to the 6th District, and never about Pelosi.

Georgia is ready for real change.

May I suggest a political party that’s not a front for Russian intelligence?

I see what you are trying to do here, associate Ossoff with Osama bin Laden, just as Saxby Chambliss did to Max Cleland.
Let’s hope the voters in the 6th don’t fall for it.
