Discussion: Idaho White Nationalist Is Harassing Communities With Racist Robocalls

OMG … bet that got a lot of testing before it was approved for publication.

What do you expect from someone who is wearing a WW2 German Army EM Summer Panzer M43 Field Cotton Cap while doing his show?

If it dresses like a Nazi, talks like a Nazi, and acts like a Nazi, it’s a Nazi.

Fuck Him.

Way back in the very early 1980s I had an African-American friend who said quite seriously that the state that he worried about driving through the most was Idaho.

for iOS phones, this can be done using Settings>Do Not Disturb>Allow Calls from Contacts.

There’s a theory that the grammar, spelling, and idiomatic mistakes in spam calls and emails are actually intentional. The rationale goes something like this…

If the language were perfect, at least some reasonably bright people would initially fall for the scam. But those sorts of people would, in most cases, eventually figure out that it was a scam, and wouldn’t complete the desired actions (like wiring money somewhere). So, dealing with those people ends up being a waste of the scammers’ time. No, the people they really want are the more gullible, less educated people, who are the most likely to end up being taken to the cleaners.

In short, the mangled initial pitch serves to weed out the smarter people.

And he did it for only one of the four occurrences in the sentence:

“Want 2 here extend sincere thank you to all on Gab who have & continue to voice support for efforts related to our very modest video podcast, most of which comes via private messages here,” he wrote in a recent post.

Gosh, I love your platform! Are you running for office? Anywhere where I can vote for you?

I lived in Idaho in the late '70s and your friend is/was right. Nicest people until race came up and then it was racist Katie Bar the Door.

“Russia if you’re listening…” could you hack this guy’s phone calls so when he calls my number, the call gets automatically forwarded to one of those services that used to exist (my friends tell me they existed) where the phone company bills him $40 per minute to speak with a phone sex provider?

Does this guy have a phone? If it’s possible for him to acquire robo-call technology that suggests any of us could. What if there was a robo-call machine that only called his number(s)?

I know the guy in the background photo. He works out at my gym. We’ve had many discussions, all political, over the years. He’s deep into mysterious conspiracies…very personable but can go on and on about all sorts of wacko stuff, Bilderberg, JFK assassination, etc. The NYT did a piece on him. Surprised the hell out of me. The guy is very intelligent and well-spoken…if you can take his politics as parody.

I will never understand the motivations for anti-semitism, racism, most of the isms and phobias which divide rather than unite us.

Sandpoint, Idaho and the Northern panhandle for years has been a home for many White nationalists and Neo Nazis. The murderers of the talk radio host Alan Berg who were members of a nationalist group called the Order came from there. After his career at the LAPD detective Mark Furman of OJ infamy moved to Sandpoint.

This has been brought up in bills in the House multiple times, but the leadership has always slapped it down (both R and D) because the Congresscritters and their supporting PACs make such extensive use of Robo-calls themselves.

Were you aware that POLITICAL CALLS are explicitly exempted from the Do Not Call List? They are.

I use an app called Hiya to block and ID callers. If you ID and report a call, it IDs it as spam to other users of the app.

Indeed, surely there are ways to protect oneself from these calls without interfering with one’s 1st Amendment rights.

“… EM Summer Panzer M43 Field Cotton Cap…”

We’ve all seen photos of these. Never knew the official name.
Danke fur dis trivia.

The 1st Amendment protects a person’s ability to speak and worship as their conscience dictates. It does not grant any entitlement to the largest megaphone available, nor does it obligate anyone else to amplify that speech.

If this real-life griefer wants to ruin my day with a phone call, he should have to place that call himself and speak directly to me.

ETA: one of the fundamental problems with Citizens United is that the court erroneously “found” that 1A grants a megaphone. That finding is a crucial support for the larger ruling that money is protected speech.
