Saw interviews with three Iowa republican voters this morning. First two wanted him out. The third white guy and his wife said we all say things we regret sometimes, of course, totally ignoring all the other regrettable statements made by this racist clown in the past.

Correction: The last guy said everybody slips, and he doesn’t think King really meant what he said.

He just “slipped.” Uh huh.

Funny, they had no problem with King when “At best, many things he said — and apparently believed — were evidence of great ignorance."

When asked why mediocrity should be a disqualification for high office, Roman Hruska (R, NE) said ''there are a lot of mediocre judges and people and lawyers. They are entitled to a little representation, aren’t they, and a little chance?" By that standard the Republican voters in Northwest Iowa are well represented.

“For heaven’s sake! We’re just a li’l ol’ newspaper! How could we have possibly known that Rep. King had made multiple racist remarks in the past?! After all, our only job is to run paid ads from Wal-Mart and Kroger so we can donate money to the GOP!”

Yes because there were no signs ever that this guy was racist before November 2018, he just got out racist closet in the past month or so.

I’m quite familiar with Goggles’ district. Some of my family even LIVES there. They LOVED him when he was giving the Brown People what for…that is, they loved him until he got his neo-Nazi ass thrown off the House Ag Committee. That bothered them more than anything. Their reasoning is yeah that’s great he’s giving non-whites hell (they get everything, anyway, and we get nothing) but now we’re not even listened to anymore,

Apparently, King isn’t the only one “far too tolerant of those who are”…and this paper is making excuses in some ways. You can actually call out a racist for being a racist these days, but it doesn’t appear that this paper tried to do very much of that in the past.

I think this IA newspaper has found itself guilty of the same behavior, and is now trying to walk back their involvement with King, because King’s taint has worn off on them as well. Perhaps many of its subscribers have said they’ll leave the paper if they fail to offer some kind of mea culpa. This editorial however fails in key ways, since it seems they have advanced King’s career for years when evidence of his racist attitudes were already on full display, even prior to the last election. They just chose to ignore it, or in other words, tolerate it as well as his awful behavior.

I’m still not sure why everyone is suddenly caving on supporting King.

He’s been doing this for many years.

He has said MUCH worse things.

That’s basically it. No Ag committee or finger on the purse in the House…He’s useless to them now. They feel free to unload on him. Pretty sure this has less to do with his racist attitudes and white supremacy and more to do with him not being able to bring home the bacon anymore.

Next up, everyone who works in the editorial department at that paper should resign for lack of foresight. Why pay someone to write opinion pieces if they lack the ability to use judgement and figure out these things before they become obvious. This paper’s staff reminds me of all those Americans who opposed entry into WWII or even considered siding with Nazis until Pearl Harbor. Then it was all, “who could have ever known?”

The answer, is many people knew then, just as many people knew that Steve King was a white supremacist with no business in congress a few weeks ago. Those are the people we should listen to.
