Discussion: HuffPost Senior Politics Editor Sam Stein Leaving For Position At Daily Beast

For a long time their aggregator of education news (both k-12 and higher ed) was a great way to catch stories one would miss - as many were local stories. But I can’t get past the redesign to every try to navigate to check on whether or not it still pulls together relevant ed news items.

I agree…for a while it was nice to be able to find the major breaking news headlines mixed with entertainment news…and a more progressive view of politics…without requiring a subscription.

It started sliding before Arianna Dahling made her Gabor Sister exit and then RAPIDLY declined.

I got booted from HP after complaining to Moderator that a commenter had posted my personal info after I had hurt his feelings… She was offended by my response to her abilities …so I got kicked out…

Huffpost is now a money-making organization owned by Verizon, who has corporate mixed feelings about its longstanding message.

Wait for it: Verizon wants corporate freedom, and ZERO freedom for Internet users. Wait for it…

Ahem. How long does Ariana Huffington have to wait for her non-compete clause to kick in?

This is Huffpost’s loss and I hope Sam doesn’t get hurt by this move. I have been a fan of him for a long time. He’s unassuming and bright and doesn’t waffle in his reporting. If he says it, I believe it. Good luck Sam.

I deleted all my Huffpo bookmarks when they put all their video on autoplay. Haven’t visited that site in a long time. It’s good to know that some of their best talent will be moving sites that I do visit.

my reading comprehension is just fine. i’ll watch if i choose. don’t take away my choice.
