Nor in America may it be a disqualification. We fixed that years before Huckabee came on the scene. Now experience is a job qualification and Mr. Fanning having been the Undersecretary of the Air Force, acting Secretary of the Air Force and Chief of Staff to the Secretary of Defense ( and other positions ) has a bit of that. All the while being gay and no one giving a shit.

I doubt this could be part of any serious political ambition. I think he is doing a ‘Palin’; trying to become a ‘political personality’ with a following who send him money and with lucrative gigs on talk shows and Fox News.

Huckabee is giving us a sneak preview of how he would act as POTUS. He can’t possible know that what he says is true. It’s doubtful Obama confided that crap to Huck. He cannot KNOW what he says is true yet makes the bold statement. Obama’s motives are whatever he wants them to be.
He’s doing it to get noticed…or in the long run elected. Appeasing the bigots in an effort to get their votes. But what he does to get elected is what he’ll do if elected. As the most powerful man in the world he’ll make shit up to suit his wicked purposes. He’ll form policy on “a pack of lies” and I think we’ve been there before.

That’s why he is showing up in such force (literally having his security details block out other candidates) at the Davis gatherings. He is busy collecting emails, phone numbers and mailing addresses to use and sell after the election.
Huckabee is a master grifter. He made out like a bandit doing the same thing back in 2008. And just like then, look for him to setup another TV/radio show aimed at the evangelicals afterwards. And given the controvery over his “diabetes cures” and “weight loss” programs, snake oil comparisons are pretty much dead on the money.

Huckabuck should thank Obama for another fund-raising opportunity. If Obama appointed a straight guy, Huckabuck couldn’t use the “gay” card to fatten his wallet.

I feel like the ridiculous bigotry of half of his statement is obscuring the ridiculous stupidity of the other half: he actually just complained that Obama appointed a civilian (the horror!) as Secretary of the Army. A position to which it is illegal (see 10 USC § 3013) to appoint a serving military officer. And he still maintains that he’s in some way interested in or planning on being President?
