I really think that Huck is running for President of 1968. All his bleating about the country’s moral decline and the decline of western civilization in general seems eerily reminiscent of Nixon’s “silent majority” speech. Wherein Huck gives a wink and a nod to the “church lady” crowd who’s constant need of fainting couches and smelling salts seems endless.

This is one of the ways the Equal Rights Amendment was defeated in the 80s. My aunt (JohnBircher) constantly complained that this amendment would allow men and women to use the same bathroom. The horrors!! Its just another way to instill fear of the unknown into the conservative mindset.

What the Huckster fails to acknowledge (and this article doesn’t point out) is that your daughter is more likely to be molested by someone at the church (or the Duggars) than by a trans woman in a public restroom. It’s a zombie meme that keeps getting repeated despite being thoroughly debunked time and again.
Whenever someone like Huck is quoted like this, it should always begin with: “Repeating a debunked and demeaning myth about transgender people…” and concluded with “research has shown that there have been ZERO reported instances of sexual assault or molestation as a result of the trans-inclusive non-discrimination laws in the 146 cities and 16 states that have passed them.”

To date, there has been no reported incident of a woman or child being sexually molested by a trans woman OR a man claiming to be trans or a man dressed as a woman in any public restroom or locker room in the US or the western world. But the one I “love” is the fact that there have been dozens of cases of trans people who have been harassed and assaulted in those public places. Funny thing is, one of those assault cases was a butch lesbian cis woman who was assaulted because the woman who was in the bathroom with her thought she was a man.
And I notice no one gets all upset over the idea of people showering or using the restroom with lesbians or gay men.
Oh, and you’re right. Outside of the family, most child molesters tend to be pastors and priests (and Protestants more often than Catholics, believe it or not), and after that, the last statistic I saw was teachers. My information may be a bit old by now, though.

I’m a gay man and I’ve only heard the term within the last year or so.
Question: As a gay man who totally identifies as male, then am I considered a cis? A cis male? Or a cis gay male? Thanks. Also, is cis the root word for something or an acronym, etc.? Again, thanks.
(It helps me to actually converse with real people sometimes rather than always google something – though I do a lot research, however. This particular issue appears to have a lot of nuance.)
