Nah, I don’t agree that Obama has not been hard hitting all along but I’ll leave that bit of concern trolling alone for now. Or maybe advise you to ask bin Laden about how late Obama was. Or the Repubs who refused to do live TV with him after he whipped their assess on TV at their own retreat in 2009.
In any case, his firmness last night is perfect timing, particularly considering GOP has the House and Senate. He let them know, in uncertain terms, that the agenda that they have laid out won’t be happening under his watch. Good for him.
As to whether the Democrats will regain any of the Houses any time soon, that’s debatable as well. As it stands, the GOP is going to have to come up with something to keep their bases energized and the other side not pissed at what they are doing. They will need to come up with actual new ideas - not just words and platitudes that have allowed them to skate by for the past few years. It’s time for them to put up or shut up - they will need to deliver on the Keystone thing they promised, repealing the ACA and they need to show they will do something about the border and other nonsense. If they don’t, their base will be pissed and the Democrats will have a lot to run against them. So I wouldn’t be so sure that GOP will keep their seats in two years.
I almost believed you were as you are trying to portray yourself here, but there were too many tells in your post. Nice try, though.
