If the regulations drive electricity producers to move from coal to cheaper gas, fuel price pass-throughs could go down. Though, yes, on the other hand, more gas being burned increases demand, which drives the price of gas up.
My point here is that there are too many unknown variables in this multivariate equation for some AP asshat to be making statements people will internalize as true no matter how the facts ultimately play out.
Yesterday over at Slate there was an article concerning this that was full of half truths. For starters, the article states the president was using executive orders. This apparebtly came from Politico.
Then the writer would say “source,” but not name the source.
