What evidence have you seen that justifies your claim that Farouk’s parents “taught him to hate”?
When I’m confronted with that scenario I check their medical alert bracelet. If there’s an ® on it I go back to playing Angry Birds.
Totally other phenomenon, however. That one almost always involves a degree of willful blindness that’s comparable to the way the MSM blinded itself to the Republican Party’s drift into nihilistic extremism.
They were government workers (albeit not Federal) and they knew where, when, etc. I honestly don’t get why people are baffled why they shot up the party of co-workers vs. some mall, etc. It was an easier target where they had access, etc.
Yes and I am sure there was little/no security. But my question is, did they really think they were going to be able to escape? Not typical of terrorists of this ilk to die running away.
Ironically, Senator Ted “Carnival” Cruz is the model sportsman. He manages to unwittingly prove that an intricately engraved over-under shotgun is not only a perfectly adequate hunting tool, but it’s also a stylish fashion accessory to be slung over the shoulder during political photo shoots.
Everything would be groovy if legitimate hunters and marksmen were limited to low-capacity weapons like Carnival Cruz’s. Too bad what they really stand for is the mass marketing of combat weapons to wannabes and terrorists.

They may have realized that they wouldn’t “get away with it” for very long, but wanted to survive for long enough to watch their atrocity covered on TV so that they could revel in the “glory” of it. They may have calculated (correctly, of course) that having “terrorists on the loose” for hours after the initial attack would increase the level of fear they could cause (and fear, after all, is by far the most powerful weapon in a terrorist’s arsenal).
And they may have had more mayhem in mind. Remember, they had more bombs back at the house. And when they were caught they were driving back in the direction of the massacre site (they actually made it to within about a mile before the police were finally able to stop them). One of the things found in the car was the remote detonator for the bomb that had been left at the massacre site but hadn’t gone off. I don’t know the details of the detonator (or if the bomb was already defused or destroyed by then, or whether the couple would have known that by then or not), but if you had to be within a certain range to use the remote detonator, perhaps they were headed back to try to set that bomb off.
From the reporting it sounded like they were simply looking to move on and hopefully carry out another attack somewhere else.
Genug with this story. It didn’t happen. Their facility was rented to the Health Department for a function. It was attendees of the function who were attacked.
