Discussion: Housing Extended For 1,700 Puerto Rican Hurricane Evacuees

Was Kirstjen Nielsen moonlight at FEMA during Maria? Really does anyone if FEMA know how to help victims of natural disasters?

Will FEMA be separating the families? Seems to be all the rage in the swamp…

Given how our government has abused people made homeless by two hurricanes last year, I am glad someone is acting responsibly here.

This administration really doesn’t like PoC. tRump has a problem with Puerto Rico, maybe it was his golf course failure there. After listening to his last comments about Houston (people went out in boats to watch the storm- that’s why the government had to rescue so many people), I really feel this man has no compassion or clue, and the lack of empathy, while concentrated at PoC, extends to everyone not tRump-affiliated.

We need to be talking about this all the time and working to get statehood for Puerto Rico.

Wow!! Despite the bad press for shitting on PRs, the FEMA administrator didn’t summarily approve waivers and instead forced the agency to be sued. Wow!!. Just wow!!

But of course. First don’t PRs speak Spanish? So they really must be illegal Mexicans, Guatemalans, something, something, Hispanic. Second, if the parents are impoverished because of the hurricane, then the government should confiscate their children–despite not wanting to take care of them.

What I really what to know is how the Florida GOP plans to suppress the Puerto Rican vote. Puerto Ricans vote at high rates in PR elections and as full American citizens, aren’t going to be intimated by GOP redneck voter intimidation efforts. The Florida PR vote has already reduced GOP strength in the Tampa-Orlando corridor. We’ll see what effect the influx of scores of thousands of Puerto Ricans to Florida over the past year, has on 2018 mid-terms and 2020 elections.

Extreme narcissist and psychopath. Other people aren’t real. They’re two-dimensional cutouts that exist either to fawn over him, or to serve his needs. PR refugees do neither, so they don’t even register with him.
